Re: "A Line" Snelling Avenue Arterial BRT
It's unfortunate that the A Line needs to spend so much time mucking about with off-ramps and mall traffic around Rosedale. Unless I've missed something, there is no real improvement over the current conditions that the 84 deals with. So if the line is extended to TCAAP, it seems like this area coul...

Re: Mayo Clinic Square (formerly Block E)
So if someone is confused about what happened to Block E, you just tell them... no, I can't bring myself to say it.

Re: Snelling and University
Also, many thanks for sharing this article, nate! It saves me the trip to Big Top (probably the furthest north Villager outlet) or waiting for the Bill Lindeke summation.

Re: Snelling and University
While something intended as a "placeholder" development can easily become a long-term fixture, it is encouraging to finally see a representative of RK Midway speaking as if they want to be something more than just a strip mall owner. That they are now an active party in redevelopment plans...

Re: Google Maps
This actually makes me really happy. Just imagine if they started gathering imagery in the 80s. It's a shame there isn't street level imagery to view from that far back, but historicaerials.com can be pretty interesting for the areas that they have coverage from. Not a lot of change is visible in m...

Re: Embarrassing Confessions of Urbanists
One of the many reasons I'm a regular user and supporter of our mass transit system is that I love my cars so much that I want to keep the miles off their odometers and avoid winter-time salt exposure. (When we chose to buy our home in Hamline-Midway over ten years ago, one of the deciding factors w...

Re: Snelling and University
The permit type is described as "Addition" which has me incredibly curious as to what they have in mind!Remodel as in keeping the existing structure?!?!?! That would be good I know it doesn't face the corner and all that but it's a cool building.

Re: Walker Library
I look forward to experiencing the new Walker library. Now if we can just, for once in our lifetimes, find a lasting,long-term use for the old, old, Walker library. http://www.bizjournals.com/twincities/n ... a-gym.html

Re: Snelling BRT/enhanced bus
I have mixed feelings about moving the northbound University stop south to Spruce Tree. On one hand, moving the station south of University will give it ample room. Things are pretty tight on the north side just with current 84 usage. On the other hand, I'll be deprived of my daily glare at the owne...

Re: TC Habitat for Humanity - (1954 University Avenue)
Yes, and it's rather unattractive. Somehow it manages to compliment the Days Inn across the street. I'm actually pleasantly surprised by the exterior appearance. Early renderings looked very gray and unpleasant. The actual color is much warmer than that... more of a chocolatey bronze. And there is ...

Re: Snelling and University
We already have Cub and Super Target so we don't need another grocery store. Really don't need another pharmacy, but could keep the Big Top Liquor redeveloped into the complex. With Menards so close I don't think a hardware store will make it. You need to have stores that the people in the neighbor...
