Re: Soccer Stadium and Snelling-Midway Development
I recall the "Day One" site plan for the stadium area shows the McDonalds and Perkins along University still in place... Now Perkins has closed - rather suddenly it seems - and there is already a full dumpster out front. Almost certainly not a renovation for Perkins... the location has van...

Re: St. Paul Restaurant News
Yep... A permit has been pulled for a restaurant build-out at 2400 University (described as "center space of multi-tenant space"). Guessing that's the spot.

Re: St. Paul Restaurant News
I'm wondering if I misinterpreted the picture - he may have just been pointing at the University and Raymond signs to illustrate the location. Because from the raw interior space pictured, it could be at the C&E project... which would make more sense.

It looks like The Naughty Greek is opening a second location - at University and Raymond. Southeast corner judging from their photos on Facebook.

Re: Soccer Stadium and Snelling-Midway Development
So is Hempel just looking to expand their residential holdings by buying a (not particularly large or notable) apartment/retail building on Snelling and Thomas, or do they have something more in mind? It can't be that they just really wanted to own the adjacent sign shop building... but that large p...

Big Top sure is a hopping place from this perspective on a Saturday evening (makes me want to head up there and wave for the camera!) Rainbow looks as bleak as ever.
I have to say, it was great to pass by the site today and see excavation taking place on a Saturday.

The old Furniture Barn has been set up as construction offices. I'm sure it beats working out of a trailer!

After just shy of a year, I am pleasantly surprised to see that the "temporary" closure of Broadway Pizza in U.S. Bank Plaza really was just temporary!
It looks like they will be reopening as "Broadway Fast & Fresh". http://www.broadwaypizza.com/downtown-minneapolis/

There is a construction trailer and two porta-potties on the west end of the site and Saint Anthony Avenue is now closed. That can't be a bad sign!

Re: Stadium Parking Ramp Development Site
The similarity of the architecture makes me think the intended tenant is the same as the Wells Fargo Towers. I'll try and ask around to see if maybe there are more moves in store. I have heard rumors that folks who originally expected to be moving to the new buildings will be staying put due to lac...

Re: "A Line" Snelling Avenue Arterial Bus
My trips along Snelling tend to be relatively short, so I won't see much in the way of improvement in travel times but I still think I will find plenty to like about the A Line. Not just the frequency and infrastructure improvements, but little things like the the wider bus doors (just came home fro...

Re: "East Town"
Northwest Bank? I find it funny that south of East Town is the West Bank. At this point, I don't think we could name the neighborhood after Northwestern Bank... Wells Fargo is already getting enough grief over the "photo bombing" issue. A name like that might inspire them to bring back th...

I'd always assumed that the buzzing was a warning to the driver regarding their speed when coming into a stop (that is, if we're talking about that really loud, obnoxious buzz and not something else). I think I've noticed it more with those operators whose style is a little less smooth than it could...

Oddly, tax records (2016 valuation) show the land belongs to the Dayton Hudson Corporation (!) c/o Ecova Inc. in Spokane, WA which describes itself as an "energy and sustainability management company". In prior years it was listed as owned by Dayton Hudson, c/o Target Corp.
