Re: Soccer Stadium and Snelling-Midway Development

Looks like some cost-cutting as well as general refinement/improvement. Unless they're adding seats elsewhere, the capacity is decreased without the full bowl.

Re: Prospect Park - General Topics

sweeet

EDIT: The buildings to the north of the one with the collapsed roof have already been cleared, unfortunately. (I was there this summer, I'm pretty sure I remember correctly.)

Re: Montage (Nye's redevelopment) - 116 E Hennepin Avenue

It looks like those doors in the back were well below the grade of the parking lot. Anyone know anything about that?

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Office Market

I can't say I like the current exterior, but I don't think it's bad at all, with the exception of the first floor. I think they could just open that up some and then replace the glazing/window wall system and it would be just fine.

Re: CPM 16-Story Apartment Proposal - 1315-19 4th St SE (Mesa/Camdi/Chatime site)

By my rough count, Stadium Village is close to 1:1 local/non, while Dinkytown is somewhere between 2:1 and 3:1 local/non, but EOst is right about more local businesses in Dinkytown being tucked away. But I would still say Stadium Village has more local places than non-local, even without Big Ten, Es...

Re: North Loop Neighborhood

I just biked down 6th yesterday; the stonework is really well done. A bit bumpy on a bike, but not unusable by any means, and it looks wonderful. Now, if only we could get more streets in the North Loop redone, get some trees planted, and open up a few more buildings for retail uses, this place woul...

Re: Urbanist missed connections

Okay, I've no idea where to put this, but is anyone familiar with a grouping of radio towers/antennas either in West St. Paul or further east/southeast of there. I am trying to figure out how far I can see from the top of my new apartment building.

Re: CPM North Loop Office Building - 419 Washington Ave N / 420 N 3rd St

Within just a few blocks, developers have proposed several projects, including an 11-story, 200,000 square foot Class A office building at 700 Fifth St. N. United Properties recently revised its plans for a 10-story class A office building on a half-block site at the corner of 7th and Washington Av...

I think Grant posting something about it somewhere. I think there's a restaurant going in. Lemme see if I can dig it up.

EDIT: Here's an article. I thought there were plans somewhere, too, though..

Re: T3 - Hines Dock Street Office Project

someone in the comments is trying to argue that concrete is more environmentally friendly than wood because wood means cutting down trees and trees are the lungs of the earth and give us shade. I can't tell if it's a troll or not.
