Re: Downtown Minneapolis Restaurant News
The medium-cursed Ling & Louie's/Randle's/Rojo space is getting a new tenant next month, according to Axios, with a rooftop patio on the roof (obviously), a lounge on the mezzanine, a Joey Meatballs on the ground floor, and a dance floor in the basement. Should be pretty cool. https://racketmn....

lol.
This place used to be called Minnescraper, and over time morphed to being more about general (urban) development. This pushed the skycraper enthusiasts to SSC. Simple as that.

Re: West Lake Apartments - 3012 Excelsior Blvd
Actually looking at a map, this doesn't even block the Loop at all. So assuming this completely real person is in the (overpriced and vacant?) Foundry building, maybe its time for an upgrade? This building might have some actual lake view units!

The post is an obvious troll... But, imagine buying a condo at the loop thinking you'd have lake views in perpetuity. LOL

Re: 800 Washington Av S (Guthrie ramp liner) - AECOM / City of Lakes Community Land Trust
If you look at the packet, it appears that all of the townhouse units are lifted up three steps above adjacent sidewalk grade, so that would make a future conversion much more difficult. It it remotely likely owner occupied condos are going to convert to commercial anyways? I mean, that sounds like...

Really? The ironclad/moxy corner. Anything else?it certainly seems like we have plenty of empty commercial space around here.

Yeah, I'm not trying to justify the routing or even the station. I just think it adds good value, disregarding ROI.

I would guess those all will be affordable units. (I don't know the details of affordable condo units, but I assume they are sold below market rate and aren't simply really small?)

Of course it ends up looking like this.
But beyond aesthetics, 300 units! 100 parking spaces!
I mean talk about a contrarian project, at least for this area. Love that about it, hope its an unqualified success.

Re: Civilian Shoveling Corps
I've been thinking about this for a while. I wasn't sure what my opinion first was but I think I agree with Mdcastle. The city should clear the sidewalks. All this lip service we give to pedestrians? Seems like clear sidewalks should be pretty important and worthy of the necessary public investment.

Re: Green Line Extension - Southwest LRT
Wasn't access to the park supposed to be the main draw of 50th Street/Minnehaha Park station. And wasn't boardings/departures at said station the lowest on the blue line. I’m guessing the 21st st station ridership will be even lower. That said the beach draws a different, younger, more urban demo. ...

No. If they were in the immediate area they’ve already moved. (I’m talking the ~2 block radius, not the whole of kenwood)Is this the same contingent that went batshit crazy when the routing was decided and tried everything to block it?

yes.If you contract with a snow removal service rather than owning your own snowblower, do they go out and do the sidewalks too?

Re: Green Line Extension - Southwest LRT
I think a lot of people will use it recreationally. Especially with plans to flesh out a little more of cedar lakes Park area to the north. It reminds me of being in Berlin and taking the train to Wanssee or something like that, and those stops were heavily used. Might be to the chagrin of the neig...

Yep, there just gonna try to get a win at the end by saying "opening a year early" or whatever (hopefully) There is some major issue with infrastructure costs in the US. I don't know enough about it but MTA in NYC just said it would cost 55 million per station just to add platform doors. I...

Re: North Loop Neighborhood
Layout on that penthouse is brutal though. You absolutely cannot put the bedrooms off the foyer like that. They've got to go on the other side, put the the kitchen/living off the entry. Come on man, this is basic stuff.
