Re: Downtown Minneapolis Retail News
Also Rund's Market on North 1st Street has closed. I'm surprised it made it so long after Whole Foods opened, but it's still sad to see neighborhood scale convenience retail close.

Re: Bicycle Infrastructure

So is 5th Street just going to remain as is? Weren't there plans to close the section between the park and tracks to cars?

Re: Bicycle Infrastructure
The exact design probably won't fit in most Minneapolis intersections, but bits and pieces of it can be implemented at various major intersections, especially where two protected bikeways meet, like at Washington where it meets 3rd or the future Hennepin lanes.

Why would they need a parking variance? Weren't parking requirements eliminated near high frequency transit?

I don't think this has been discussed yet here, but I saw some work going on at 620 Olson Memorial Highway today. New windows going in, etc. Looks like it's going to be a couple of charter schools. Remember when an " entertainment complex " was proposed there back in 2011? LOCKED: http://w...

4th Street will be reconstructed in 2018. Fill out this survey and share your thoughts! http://www.surveygizmo.com/s3/3383217/4th-Street-Reconstruction-Project The City presented a few options at a recent open house that kept it as a three lane one way. That's unacceptable to me, especially with how...

Not too familiar with this one, but can you fill us in on how seeking variances to exceed maximum parking and breaking away from the Pedestrian Oriented Overly District standards will result in improvement?
