How Minneapolis Freed Itself From the Stranglehold of Single-Family Homes
Desperate to build more housing, the city just rewrote its decades-old zoning rules.

Re: Downtown Minneapolis General Topics & Development Map

This project is the Met Council repairing a sewer tunnel 85' below grade. It'll wrap up next spring.

At that time, the city's reconstruction of 4th St will begin in earnest, to be complete in 2022.
Thanks! Not knowing had been extremely mildly bothering me for the last six months haha

I would guess the barriers are for 8th St. construction and not this development.
I thought so too, but then I saw them. They've got the Kraus Anderson logo on them.

Re: Gateway Tower (RBC/Four Seasons) - 37 stories - 503'

The construction fencing in Cancer Survivors Park has been there for a while - I'm not sure if they're fixing the green roof, adding a new feature, or both. The tent is for the barbeque picnic the building throws for its tenants every summer. I really miss working there sometimes. Construction fenc...

Re: Road Geek Topics

Idk if Metro Transit can afford all the tickets they'd get. I always find it interesting how many buses I see running red lights and blocking the box, especially on 6th as they cross Marquette. And yes, traffic was extra bad yesterday but it was directly related to the Twins game and the time...

Re: Electric Scooters

Nicollet is better than most, although you still get a significant percentage on the sidewalk (maybe 1 in 4 or similar to bicycles on the sidewalk). Most other places it's more like 50/50. In 10 minutes in Gold Medal Park I saw 7 or 8, all on the sidewalk, including a group of six riding up the spir...

Re: Electric Scooters

As a runner I can tell you there's more than enough of them lying around to block the running paths.
A protected class
It is actually pretty dangerous. Gold Medal Park is nearly overrun with people riding them on the sidewalks and on the grass(!). Saw one toddler almost get knocked over.
