Re: DTE: Wells Fargo, Radisson Red, Edition Apts & Millwright Building
I know we all know of the incredible amount of signage down here but thought i'd share a couple shots. You can literally stand still in one spot and without moving your head see 11 Wells Fargo signs. 9 visible Wells Fargo signs: https://i.imgur.com/8ow3E6t.jpg From the sky: https://i.imgur.com/i7Nuk...

Re: West Calhoun Apartments - (3118 Lake Street W)
I'd say a leaky roof is better than the building being torn down after year 40.

Re: West Calhoun Apartments - (3118 Lake Street W)
BKV roof design issues. Similar to the mold problems on the 3rd and 4th floors of Calhoun Flats. They had a "fix" to the mold issues. They just painted the walls every year in the dark moldy hallways of floors 3 and 4. I lived at the Flats(then called City Apartments) for a couple years 3...

Re: Minneapolis Armory
The dust up was actually mostly about large pillars/towers he was planning on doing to the sides of the building. The HPC had a problem with this because they felt it takes away the historic value of the property as the modifications are too large. April 15th; https://c2.staticflickr.com/2/1492/2643...

Re: Western Container Building/Arctic Cat HQ - 500 3rd Street N
I've always liked this building and have been following it pretty closely. The last couple weeks have been pretty heavy in work, noticed painters parked outside overnight working last week. From the looks of it, there is going to be some cool contrast with the new and old when finished. https://c2.s...

Re: New Kraus-Anderson HQ (9th St. S/5th Ave. S)
Yeah! This was one of the quickest demo jobs i've seen downtown in quite awhile. Also, don't see many demolition sites that have concrete barriers around it stamped with the logo of the building they are demoingWas surprised there was no basement in the KA HQ. Makes for a quick demo though!

Re: TCF Bank Building Redevelopment
Clock stopped blinking TCF in January. The lease ran out Dec. 31. And the building's name appears to have changed to the street address: 121 South 8th Street http://www.franklinstreetproperties.com/property/minnesota/tcf-tower-and-bank-building/index.html Nice catch on the sign, didn't notice that....

Re: TCF Bank Building Redevelopment
No one is in the building anymore from what I can tell. Signs say that the branch is closed and advises people go to IDS. Hopefully we see something with the Q4 press release. Yeah, for sure no one in the building. I believe they moved out in December. In another thread I had mentioned how they cov...

Re: TCF Bank Building Redevelopment
Yeah, I don't know whats exactly been going on with this project, anyone? Over the last few weeks they have been stripping the place, at one point they had dumpsters out on Marquette. Not sure if they are still there or not though. The heat has also been off for quite some time in that part of the s...

Re: Minneapolis Skyway System
Seriously what is with the fake watery-looking background? I thought that was just on some of the old signs because they had zero idea how design was supposed to work and it was a cobbled-together semi-private disaster for signage. Is that actually a design standard for the skyways? From the "...

Re: Minneapolis Skyway System
I've seen these signs in a couple different places now, and not at all near each other either. This one pictured, from the wrong side of Washington, in the commercial building next to The Churchill Apartments. Just yesterday I saw an identical sign (yellow too) in a building off 4th Ave S (don't re...

Re: Minneapolis Skyway System
Funny, that was my first thought as well. The signage is horrendous and never expected new segments to have the same old signage. I think the city could use a rebranding of the skyways.

Re: IDS Center
'Burton Art Studios' has opened on the corner of 8th and Marquette in IDS. I wonder if this is a pop up for the holidays? Edit: https://www.facebook.com/Art-Soul-Holiday-Event-390517594384470/ It's the Art and Soul Holiday Event. I guess I just saw the Burton Art Studios sign in the window. Yeah, t...

I didn't really know where else to throw this, so I figured I'd toss it on one of his buildings: http://www.bizjournals.com/twincities/blog/law/2013/10/ned-abdul-convicted-domestic-abuse.html Seriously, wow.
