Re: Nicollet-Central Streetcar
Uber and Lyft already revolutionized how visitors get around the city, no need to spend hundreds of millions we don't have just for them.

But instead let's lock up 4mm/year in property taxes for a trolley nobody outside of the area supports.

Re: MSP Airport
If we are actually super concerned about saving travelers the ~$4 in transit fare to and from the airport, Fort Snelling could probably be added to the airport free ride zone without too much heartache. Considering that the MAC gets the bulk of it's revenue from parking, opening up that kind of loo...

Sure, but we're not just talking about the mall anymore. Hennepin Ave. is perfectly intact and yet hasn't been spared from the closings and vacant streetscapes.

I don't really care if it's not a replacement Mexican restaurant, I just want to see the Rosa space filled up ASAP and not have a 5 year ghost lease like Chilli's. It's yet another very prominent location downtown that is now sitting empty.

Bizjournal unlocked story for those who want the details. Didn't know the exact history of this weird building or that it could be connected to the learnington ramp via skyway.

Select Comfort is moving it's headquarters and about 900 employees from Plymouth to 1001 3rd Ave. S.

If this routing is so much better, it really makes you wonder what would have happened had Lake Elmo pulled out. For once NIMBY's did us all a favor.

No, read the article. It sounds like this is close to a done deal. The signs from the top have not been encouraging of late.

I think you guys need to take a chill pill about the parking level. I don't think it will make a lick of difference on the outside. Along 5th street the first 12 feet is solid load-bearing stone anyways before the windows start. From that side it's not gonna matter what is behind that whether parkin...

Re: East End / Thresher Square - 713 Washington Ave S
This area desperately needs more fast casual and fast food places for lunch. The options for the 4,000+ wells fargo employees within a reasonable walk are pretty much limited to the aforementioned subway. US Bank plaza has more options if one is willing to make the trek but the lines there get prett...

What's interesting about this whole pot debate is that the many Indian Tribes in the state could very likely fully legalize it unilaterally on their reservations. It would probably provide a good-sized economic boost, and yet they haven't done it.

no one-way street is ever going to be the kind of human-scale commercial environment we'd deserve. Converting to two-way traffic is step #1 before we get carried away here.

Why Hasn't Anyone Developed this huge parking lot?
Seems like this is the new likely location of the fabled 1,000 room hotel somewhere down the line.
