Re: Downtown Minneapolis General Topics & Development Map
I went there a couple times. My wife experience was the food and service not being good at all. I never went back.

Re: Minneapolis Skyway System
To be fair, I don't think it has so much to do with race as it does with not wanting people to loiter, vandalize, or defecate in the skyway. There is some precedence for concern due to the anti-social behaviors that have been occurring in the skyway near the street connection to the St Paul Skyway:...

Re: Star Tribune
If the Star Tribune cared about local reporting I'd be happy to pay for it. Their local stories are about as substantial as the local tv news. I know where you're coming from, but you're basically saying "if the Strib could afford to hire enough reporters to cover local news in-depth, I'd pay ...

Re: Star Tribune
As has been pointed out above, there are ways to work around the paywalls and get the Strib for free, so this isn't really an exercise in getting the best price. If you're paying for it, it's because you value you it at some level. Perhaps $4 per week really is too much, and I'd tend to agree that ...

Re: Minneapolis Armory
They are working on the elavator penthouse on the Armory. Does anyone know what's been approved? I know some people are disappointed with this project, but I'm excited to see this building get some use again. If they have to have parking in the basement to make it financially viable I'm good with th...

Re: Public Transit News and Current Happenings
Yeah the fact that I always have to re-log in to get to my purchased tickets is extremely annoying. Yea, but it's good for security reasons. You don't want anybody logging in your account to purchase more tickets for you, as that could be very dangerous. If you have a code or a fingerprint on your ...

Why do trains have to stop for cars exiting CP Plaza? You don't cross the tracks from that garage.

Oakwood apartments by Harry wild Jones. 1890s. A gem worth saving.
I don't know if they'll be able to rehab the building. There is a lot of damage.

I think it looks really nice.Well this got significantly worse. It's now just mostly a parking ramp.
It's not a stand alone parking structure and sufficient well hidden parking in the neighborhood is a good thing.

I suppose I wonder how that will fit in with a new retailer then.
I think it's the same type of merchandise. Just a different vendor.

The visitor information center isn't going away.Hmm. Good that something is going to fill it in. Still, I kind of liked that it was a Minneapolis/Minnesota-themed store that also provided visitor and transit info.

25 passengers an hour? We need to enhance service where people are and where they want to go. What are they thinking?
- Long term: 2020-2040. When Rt. 363 reaches 25 passengers per in-service hour, replace with BRT service.

Re: The economics of housing
A new residential home builder is focusing on small starter homes in North Minneapolis. http://finance-commerce.com/2016/09/modular-home-maker-considers-north-minneapolis-plant/ I wish them the best of luck, but this is way over priced for the neighborhood. You can get this trailer house for $22500...
