Re: Proposed Cable Median Barriers on at-grade highways
What's the difference between a Freeway and an Expressway? They have already basically finished installing these on all of the metro's freeways. Expressways are also included as targets for installation and a recent example would be on Highway 36 east of 694 and MN-61 south of Burns Ave.

That's some strong PR! It belies the opposition to a great project that they anticipate, which is just too sad.Nice website, including a place to submit feedback.

Re: Rush Line Corridor BRT
Do any BRT projects use gates? Blue Line has gates on Hiawatha? I'm guessing this is unlikely to happen.
It's also weird that Mendota Circle is a public street. Seems like just a driveway to a private parking lot. Does *not* seem deserving of a traffic light.

Re: Highway Transitway Corridor Study
If we had a regional rail system in the Twin Cities I would expect something to connect out to Stillwater. Given financial realities we are obviously building a regional rapid bus network instead. I'm curious how many stops they would plan for this line, but if it makes a quick ride to Stillwater it...

Re: St. Paul RiverCentre Ramp RFP
About Us History The Minnesota Legislature established the Saint Paul Port Authority as a non-profit governmental agency in 1929 to manage the Saint Paul Harbor. In 1932, the City of Saint Paul transferred Barge Terminal One to the Saint Paul Port Authority. Barge Terminal Two was added in 1960, fol...

Re: St. Paul RiverCentre Ramp RFP
Is it strange that the Port Authority has submitted a proposal that competes against private developers? I don't get why we have them doing this.

Same owner. I don't know if they're going to keep the Ward 6 name, but I think the menu will different. The wood floor has been refurbished and apparently the basement was redone.

Re: Sibley Plaza Redevelopment [on hold]
This reminds me of people being excited for Sun World to take over the old Cub/Rainbow building at Seeger Square (Arcade St) rather than shooting for a larger redevelopment that could take advantage of transit improvements. Reusing/filing a badly designed strip mall is a negative in my mind, as it p...

Re: Rush Line Corridor BRT
On the Rush Line trip to Richmond, VA, a big question came up from a Metro Transit staff person about whether or not an articulated bus can get three doors close enough to the platform to make level boarding functional. It seems that only one of the doors (front or middle) actually needs to be withi...

Re: Electric Scooters
I don't see scooters replacing car trips Why not? For a tourist, they often replace trips that might otherwise be taken by ride share. Why wouldn't that be the case for residents? I suppose this is a good point. I was thinking of privately owned cars. Still, I don't see them replacing longer distan...
