Re: Target Center Renovation
10 years is still a little while away, however same location would be perfect since we invested all that transit info structures. Expand the footprint over 7th and 394 if necessary. Would mean better outside space combined with target field and easier connections to A ramp and maybe even B ramp. Ag...

Re: Street, Road and Highway Projects
Lyndale is a unique beast in the Minneapolis street system. It's *the* way into town for a huge and dense swath of South Minneapolis. When it backs up, some people may get on the bus. But more people will start cutting through the neighborhoods. Arterial streets are a thing for a reason. People are...

Re: Arterial Bus Rapid Transit Corridors
We should not be prioritizing bikes versus buses in the segments where the single bus lanes are being implemented. We have the greenway right there and bike lanes should also be added onto 31st street. This is one of the most crucial routes that desperately needed dedicated bus lanes in the whole s...

Re: Street, Road and Highway Projects
I would have rather seen bus lanes on lyndale. I would hope they add bus lanes from Franklin to 31st when they do the 4-3 conversion. The 4 is slated as one of the next BRT routes after the F,G,H (https://www.metrotransit.org/arterial-bus-rapid-transit-brt-planning) and that stretch would seem to r...

Re: Arterial Bus Rapid Transit Corridors
Maybe there will be something quite surprising in the sketches but as it stands this looks pretty mediocre. It's not clear to me what a single bus lane accomplishes other than making one direction much faster than the other. (I've seen some configurations where one outer lane is bus-only in the mor...

Re: Target Center Renovation
Now that it is sold...how about tear it down, build arena with 1000' tower on top and extend Target Plaza across 394 to the new building...or build a new stadium and cap 394 with a mixed use building... I get what you're saying but the arena wasn't sold, just the main lessee as the arena is still o...

The Gasthof property (half a block, 1.2 acres) is for sale for $3.1MM. At that price they are definitely targeting redevelopment, not someone to take over and run the restaurant. The description in the listing confirms. https://www.edinarealty.com/commercial-real-estate-for-sale/2300-university-ave...

Re: Amtrak Empire Builder and Intercity Rail to Chicago
The schedule listed above would mean about 65 minutes off the roundtrip vs. the Empire Builder's schedule but should do a lot better than the Empire Builder's unacceptable 46.1% on-time performance (defined as no more than 15 minutes later than scheduled) from both 2018 & 2019. I find it interes...

Almost certainly they will pay to break the lease- one-time expenses are basically disregarded by shareholders as long as it means lower expenses going forward. How do we know for sure they will keep paying the lease? Maybe they can pay a fee to break it early.

Re: Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board
No net loss makes sense within the city. But Meadowbrook's entrance is 3 miles from the closest part of Minneapolis. And we're paying $3 million for it every single year. Imagine a world where Meadowbrook was not owned by the Park Board, and they decided to spend $50 million to acquire land outside...

Relatedly, hoping those empty commercial spaces at that intersection (old Prieto building and the historic ivory brick building just across Lake) get filled in. I walked by there the other day and saw a poster that said #FixLyndale. Anyone know what this is alluding to? #FixLyndale is people who li...

I should go support that Five Guys...haha. The Nicollet Five Guys absolutely needs to be supported just for being one of the few places downtown (especially among non-bars or brunch spots) open in the evening and weekends, particularly on Sundays when the Chipotle across from WCCO is closed. I rare...

From Dinkytown, it dominates the skyline and lines up perfectly with the Dinkytown Greenway when looking downtown from the Dinkytown McDonald's intersection (4th St & 15th Ave). From this vantage point, it blocks out a lot of the rest of the skyline.

I actually like the design of the building. True - wish it had been taller. More importantly, should included street level retail to cater to the increasing number of residents and workers in this area, as well as visitors to the park, stadium instead of skyway level retail. There is a coffee shop ...
