I imagine this would be pretty popular around these parts.

I spent a couple of hours there last night taking photos; see the whole set here ; or skip to my favorite which is linked/previewed below: https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3926/14962749500_5e7bdeba6d_z.jpg It's an insanely cool place to take pictures at night; if you're into photography and have an u...

That's what I thought you meant. Gorgeous building. Will comment further on the other thread.
For now, I like the North Loop Neighborhood. Yes I do. <--on topic.

Love this. It's beautiful building and with a little TLC will look incredible. Blast all that dirt off the facade and yes please.

Re: North Loop Neighborhood
I had the opportunity to drive aroud the old 'hood yesterday and it's totally different than it was even 10 years ago when I was living in the old Riverwalk apartments (Lindsay Brothers warehouse). The walkability is out of this world. Any bets on whether this continues westward down 2nd St.? Possi...

Re: LPM Apartments - (376' - 36 Stories)
Take over? Are you all referring specifically to the stretch on 5th St between 1st ave and 6th? The few blocks around there are about the only places that get really really packed before and after Twins games. Venture a few blocks toward Washington and you may forget there is a game.

Not sure where this should go, but I'll place this right here for some thought.

Re: Road Crime
Maybe I'm mistaken? I know texting while driving is outlawed, but talking is not.Wow. I thought all states had banned cell phone use while driving years ago. I can't believe it's still allowed.

Re: Road Crime
This may be off topic, but why is cell phone use while driving not banned in the more dense municipalities like MPLS? I understand that much of the rest of state doesn't support a cell phone ban while driving because the roads are largely wide open. However, I am constantly playing car dodger when I...

That brick building is parking for the Gaar Scott lofts next door. Had a friend who parked in there. Kind of a cool building, but being 1 story tall, doesn't have much function.
Seems cool.

as much as i like skyscrapers i don't know if it's enough to accept a "trump tower minneapolis" lol you see the fight he's having in chicago to plaster his name on a tower there. Let's not use that as an example. I will LOL with you though! That could have been easily avoided early in the...

Re: Uber(x), Lyft, and Ridesharing.
How do licensed cab fees compare to the 20% Uberx fees? Additionally, were your numbers assuming a constant stream of requests?
By my accounts, you're taking home about 40% of fares after Uber fees, gas an taxes(as sole proprietor).

Re: Uber(x), Lyft, and Ridesharing.
I'm in the same boat. Plastic only, cash rarely, so that bugs me. I've had that same experience in NYC and Chicago though, so not shocking. If they don't respond, just get out. I know, awkward. Ihail is pretty useless in my opinion. That same issue persists. Some cab companies are apparently using T...

Re: Uber(x), Lyft, and Ridesharing.
It is difficult to find a cab here, in my opinion. I've certainly never seen many driving around during my few months here aside from the CBD. I wouldn't mind using traditional taxis if they were hip to an app like Hailo which lets you hail and pay for it from your phone. It allows for the same real...

Uber(x), Lyft, and Ridesharing
I didn't see a topic anywhere so I thought I would start one. I don't see much mention of this service here, despite the ordinance going to vote this morning.
Anyone use it? I figured this mode of transport might get a lot of support from Urbanists, but not sure.

Not surprised. The location is prime. If your goal is to be near downtown and near some good eats, that's your easiest option.

Re: Apartment Boom
Good article. Helped me understand things as a newbie. I try not to read comments often, but this one stuck out: "It seems like there are two types of buildings: High rent/luxury finishings, and "artist lofts" or "affordable housing." But the latter comes with income require...
