Re: Downtown Minneapolis General Topics & Development Map
The Upper Midwest of the MS society has left their location in the mill district at 200 12th Ave. S (to 2829 University Ave SE) so this building is now empty. The property including parking lot is about .75 acre, but a bit under 3/4 of the block is a building the UofM appears to be leasing (Universi...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Office Market
Many companies (my own included) have moved to a flex system as well. Unless you are in the office 18+ days per month, you do NOT get an assigned cube/office and must reserve a cube/office every time you go in. Many more people are working from home 3, 4, or 5 days per week. This has resulted in a ...

Re: Richfield - General Topics - 66th Street
Isn't wythe vs thin brick the result of the expansion contraction discussed earlier? For maybe 4 stories or so the difference in expansion and contraction between wood and brick is the same so you can use full brick, but any taller than that and you switch to veneer? Or do you switch to veneer at th...

I've heard they're basically tiles: like a brick with a 1/2" or 1/"4 veneer shaved off (no idea how they're actually manufactured) and so you've gotta mortar the whole thing and lay them like tiles.

Re: Lake & Nicollet Redevelopment (Kmart site)
To use eminent domain you have to make the original landowner "whole" again which in this case entails buildings a new Kmart building and giving Kmart the same sweetheart lease as they have now, which I'm sure would be insanely expensive. E: Like I said a year and a half ago Making them wh...

Re: Grocery Stores
Anyway, does anyone know where I can get Broccolini in the city? The Quarry Rainbow had it when it was a Rainbow, but now that it's a Cub they don't have it. I've looked at Whole Foods, Lunds downtown, and Seward Coop (yes, I went into a coop!) and none of them had it. Tracy's gets it from somewher...

So Aquaponics is not growing things in soil, it's like hydroponics (growing stuff directly in water) but there are fish in that water which I guess is better for the plants and good for the fish so overall you're producing more food. So the soil contamination shouldn't be an issue here as long as it...

Re: Minneapolis 2040 Comprehensive Plan
Look, people are out here with serious faces saying the city is going to steal your land and demolish your house, and that no outreach was done to the public. These aren't the kinds of things you can have opinions on, these are falsifiable facts. The 2040 debate has clearly gone off the rails becaus...

Re: Minneapolis 2040 Comprehensive Plan
Mndible keeps saying "elected officials" but it's not the elected officials that hired a PR team it's planning staff. And after the red-sign brigade started convincing people that the city was going to use eminent domain to seize homes and demolish them, I'm not sure I blame staff for real...

Re: Uptown General Topics & Development Map
I don't remember whose policy it is (maybe the city) but because those promenades are not publicly owned, they don't want curb cuts because it might give people the impression that they can use them? Like it's wild and incredibly dumb but I've been told that's what the city wants.

Haha glad I'm not the only one that thought parking garage looking at that rendering. I think amiller92 is right, it's that empty looking elevator corner lobby along with the big windows opening up into empty units. I don't really expect them to render each unit fully furnished so, I guess that's wh...

Look at this disgusting sexist pig that just actually wrote all those words defending the act of posting a naked picture of his ex wife with the explicit purpose of shaming and embarrassing her. Your attitude is remarkably sexist and abusive. It's 2018, have some basic human decency.
