That's called fiber-to-the-node, and it is fairly common. It doesn't hold a candle to true fiber-to-the-premises, but beats the pants off of normal DSL. I agree. Ignoring the sideshow on parking/parking permits, the restaurant wasn't a good idea for the spot. I think a cafe/coffee shop would be a better fit. However, I wish there were more restaurants in the area.

Locavore backed out. Their bank wouldn't give them a loan without more parking and since the streets surrounding the site are permit, that was a no-go. On a side note the city is revisiting the permit parking policy on residential streets.
