Re: Bottineau Corridor (Blue Line Extension)
I wasn't going to get into it but a better indicator of transit use is residential household density, that is, the number of households in a given area divided by its residential land area. The reason being that the majority of transit trips are taken for work purposes, so it doesn't really matter ...

Re: Bottineau Corridor (Blue Line Extension)
I posed this same question to some Met Council planner years ago at some event at the Humphrey institute, and he basically said it's politically impossible to do something like that' You're talking about a forced migration of hundreds of homes, and even though it's different from something like des...

Re: Bottineau Corridor (Blue Line Extension)
You're pushing it by claiming a density of over 10k/sq mi - I'd like to see your source on that. I'm surprised at the gross population density in Homewood since the household density is quite low, which of course means the family size in the area is much larger than typical for Mpls. I think it wou...

Re: Bottineau Corridor (Blue Line Extension)
Redisciple, Homewood is over 10k per square mile just north of Plymouth. You're telling me that no one is going to walk down from Willard-Homewood or take a connector bus and then ride the LRT to MOA or the U? As for the park and ride, personally I'll bike, but many a GV and a few of my fellow north...

Re: Vikings Stadium
The U plays early season games at the Metrodome and will continue to do so at the new stadium. I guess they have a tournament in the spring every year.

Re: House of Hanson Site (14th Avenue SE & 5th Street SE)
The Duffy's own the two Victorian structures that sit next to each other behind the pizza shop. I was a tenant in the one next to Duffy's. I'm pretty certain they subsidized the pizza business with the four flats and a studio that are in those two buildings. Even if that is true, is that a problem?...

Re: Vikings Stadium
What's up with the Minnesotan superiority complex? This a rhetorical question and just something I've noticed living here for the last 9 years. We should be proud of this state, but Wisconsin is our mirror image in most ways. Now let's get back to the Viking's stadium.

Re: Vikings Stadium
Well that was Mayor Norquist's POV. It would have left the valley for other development. I still think its a great first impression driving into the city from the west and suits the tailgating, beer swigging culture of my hometown just as Target Field fits our culture. I would never condone Zygi fie...

To each his own. I'm a fan of Miller Park. The roof has its issues, but is beautiful.

Re: North Loop Neighborhood
Milwaukee's Third Ward and the adjoining neighborhoods along the Milwaukee River are a step above the North Loop IMO. I love the North Loop, but it's about a decade behind the Third Wards development. The Iron Horse Hotel is amazing.

Re: Dinkytown
Just realized my first apartment and the college magazine offices I worked at are both in the path of the apartment boom. I still can't believe the UTC wasn't turned into lofts. As for the Victorian that's coming down, it had seen better days.
