Re: Suburban City Councils, shenanigans

What the hell is wrong with you, posting someone's naked photo without their consent should absolutely be illegal.

Re: Scooter sharing

"Motorized Foot Scooters" are defined in state statute 169.011 and given basically the same "rights and duties" and bicycles in 169.225.

Re: Bike Share

It's already illegal to ride motorized foot scooters on sidewalks: https://www.revisor.mn.gov/statutes/cite/169.225 §Subd. 2.Sidewalk and passenger prohibition. No person may operate a motorized foot scooter upon a sidewalk, except when necessary to enter or leave adjacent property. No person may op...

Re: Bike Share

When the bikes cost a couple of hundred dollars each, yeah, that's a huge cost. And docks work when both the origins and destinations are concentrated. Docks don't solve the last mile problem at a transit station because yeah, it works to have a dock on one end of the trip (the transit station) but ...

How so? Fire stations don't regularly burn. It's just a big garage with some residential and office uses attached to it

Re: Stadium Village

I was going to make the same point that other people made do we believe the U of M foundation has the will power and ambition to build something great here, we know they have the resources. But honestly a little green space at the corner of Washington and Huron wouldn't be the worst thing so long a...

Hooray, more property off the tax rolls that won't actually be used by the University! Maybe they'll finally fix that door that goes into Burger King from the parking lot.

They start paying rent in September which is why MPS is going to move in November during Thanksgiving break rather than waiting for winter break and paying that extra month and a half of rent

Re: Tax Increment Financing (TIF) Districts

Municipalities in Minnesota have no way to levy additional property taxes on certain areas. The total tax capacity of the city is calculated by state formulas, all the city or anyone can do is set their tax capacity rate which applies to the whole city.

Would have been a nice touch to include the City Hall clock tower and incorporate the actual clock.

Well that's weird, there's still a line on their map for that route, but it could also be a line connecting us with Baltimore that happens to pass exactly through the Chicago dot on the map.

Anybody know where dirt that is piling up east of Hiawatha and south of Lake St. is coming from? My guess is the new apartment being constructed on the west side of Hiawatha, south of the new office building on Lake. Nope, there wasn't any excavation for that apartment because they're using undergr...

Re: Freight Rail News and Happenings

It's paid for by whoever owns the road that crosses the railroad, the railroad doesn't pay anything. At least that's the case with all the crossings on the freight rail along Hiawatha.

Re: The Link at Prospect Park - 2929 University Ave SE

I'm guessing the property owner has some say in it. For example Menards on University Ave has a University Ave address despite facing Prior Ave and all the entrances being on Prior Ave, save one staircase up from University Ave.

*McLaughlin

Maybe he's like me and hates the generalization that ABRT is on the same level as LRT.
An assertion that nobody has made ever?

Meanwhile the pisswater excuse for BRT, the Red Line, continues to carry the same network branding as LRT.

Last one I went to the "ground" to break was actually a parking lot but I don't know, put Peter McGlaughlin in a backhoe and have him push the button rather than this stupid shovel thing. Also isn't McGlaughlin kind of ambivalent to a little hostile to the concept of rapid bus? What the he...
