Re: Mill City Quarter - (300 South 2nd Street)

If I'm remembering correctly, this is city owned land This is correct. In a May 26 e-mail converssation, Lisa Goodman told me: "We are under contract on the parcel in front of Riverwest for 2 housing projects as well right now." The City also owns the empty lot at 205 Park, but isn't look...

Re: Park Vista (2nd Street South & 11th Avenue South)

Sorry to intrude on this conversation, but I have some Park Vista news. The backhoes have been moved to the center of the lot, it looks like work is about to begin here.

Now, carry on...

Re: Park Vista (2nd Street South & 11th Avenue South)

The Bridgewater is a nice mix of young families, empty nesters, and Yuppies. I would expect the makeup of "Park Vista" to be the same. I am excited to see this project go up, hopefully its success will convince Sherman to move forward on Zenith II (although I would prefer office space at t...

Re: Izzy's Ice Cream Factory

All this talk about Salmela's other projects motivated me to check out his website and blog. When I didn't see any renderings of the Izzy's Factory, I sent him an e-mail asking if any renderings would be released and, if not, whether the previously released model ( http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7039...

Re: Park Vista (2nd Street South & 11th Avenue South)

Doesn't look like any excavation was done to me. I did notice a few large backhoes towards the back of the lot. Hopefully they are there to start work on Park Vista, but its also possible they are left over from the work at the Izzy's site. Those backhoes have been on the lot for over a year now, b...

Its disheartening to read that they are specifically lowering the investment in the renovation of the "skin." I understand that there are significant issues with the concourses, and the box office should be moved to the corner of 1st Ave/6th St, but the exterior needs significant improveme...

Re: Downtown Restaurant News

The former Wondrous space needs to be split into two. Its too big and too L-shaped.

I don't see any restaurant being successful here, in its current configuration, but I would love to be proven wrong.

This is what the conceptual renderings showed vis-a-vis the light rail station: http://www.insidemnsoccer.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/vikingsStadium04-03-12-1.jpg And yes, as I said, we need to wait until an architect is chosen and final designs are unveiled. those arches aren't going anywhere. Yes they are. There has been much discussion on this board about a new light rail station being built, but unless I am mistaken, that hasn't been announced. I beleive they do plan to have an expanded plaza, but I don't think any designs have been released. They m...

those arches aren't going anywhere. Yes they are. Also, it looks like RT & Co. want to test out the arterial tailgating idea well before 2016. While it certainly won't replicate a traditional tailgating experience, I think this could work for the majority of fans. http://www.startribune.com/loc...
