It looks like there's an interesting new development going in at Upton (i think) and Lowry. There's a banner there that reads: "Tap In is a craft cocktail bar and restaurant created for community members to nourish themselves, connect with each other, and 'tap in' to the growing Northside. Tap ...

Re: Public Transit News / Current Events (MN only)
Of course people can still choose to wear masks, but that isn't the issue. Masks are beneficial for the wearer, but more so for people around them, hence why a mandate was essential in the first place: to protect people surrounded by others who weren't worried about covid's impact on themselves. In ...

From past renderings, I think they're working on the top floor currently. The project is called Bloom Lake Flats, here's a little more info: https://www.clarehousing.org/bloom-lake-flats/

Combined with Bent Paddle, Ursa Minor, Lee's Pizza, etc, I could be pretty happy in this area for several days: https://www.startribune.com/grand-marais-hungry-hippie-tacos-adds-loc...

Wow. I wonder if they're hedging with respect to the Highland Bridge land they were possibly after, or if this would be in addition to that? I don't typically have an aversion to golf course re-development, but I agree it's hard to picture this being an improvement, at least on first glance.

Re: Does Minneapolis have too many stoplights?
Obviously no one here wants to increase the risk of physical harm for anyone. My initial post mentioned autos, bikes and pedestrians so as to make clear this is not a car-centric line of thought. I don't think roundabouts need to replace all stoplights...just possibly the one i referenced, and was c...

Re: Does Minneapolis have too many stoplights?
Another revival of an old thread: do others think a roundabout would near-infinitely help auto/bike/pedestrian traffic at the east side of the Franklin Bridge over the Mississippi (intersection of Franklin, SE 27th, and E River Rd)? I know they re-did this area a few years ago, but the waits are ter...

Awesome. It doesn't mention any relocation of the Profile Center...I've been wondering what is being built out on the 27th Ave-adjacent part of 150 26th Ave SE as it seems like a possible new event space. I guess my curiosity will continue for the time being.

Sharrows begone! I would guess the grade-separated bike path and the considerable narrowing of the street between River Rd and 46th Ave is a more pronounced attempt at traffic calming and avoiding pedestrian/cyclist/car interactions given the school's proximity? Whatever the reason, should be a huge...

Not sure if this was mentioned in a different thread, but this project proposed for the vacant lot at 2313 13th Ave S looks like a great addition to this area; will definitely want to check out the compressed earth block construction, as well as the finished space! http://indigenouspeoplestf.org/mik...

Interesting. We're in a significant drought this summer, thus all 18 holes are open to golfers. I'd like to think this vote wasn't influenced by weather instead of climate, but at this point I have no idea what to think about the future of the Hiawatha course.

This could provide space for left turn lanes and safer, grade-separated crossings at those locations, while retai...
