Re: Loring Park Apartments - (1368 LaSalle Avenue)

Drove by this today and the site was bumping!
Very much so. Today there was a crane putting together a crane, which I assume will be used to construct another even larger crane. ;)

Re: Loring Park Apartments - (1368 LaSalle Avenue)

Fences and barriers are all up. Some backhoes and other equipment are on site. Looked like they were doing a little bit of demo work.

Re: Park Vista (2nd Street South & 11th Avenue South)

Doesn't look like any excavation was done to me. I did notice a few large backhoes towards the back of the lot. Hopefully they are there to start work on Park Vista, but its also possible they are left over from the work at the Izzy's site.

Re: Loring Vue Apartments - (415 Oak Grove Street)

I want to vote for Romney sometimes... Whoa whoa whoa lets all just be cool guys... No need for any drastic decisions here. Maybe they'll get lucky and some developer who is bent on loosing as much money as he can before his impending divorce will come and build some sprawled out one story half blo...

Re: Magellan Apartment Tower - (1368 LaSalle Avenue)

Alrighty then.... Anyways if anyone is still in doubt about this Magellan's website is saying they have commenced construction (this is probably were Star Trib and the others got that info) I would guess we will start to see the cranes being assembled and going up tomorrow. Here's the link to their ...

Re: Magellan Apartment Tower - (1368 LaSalle Avenue)

This isn't going to happen. It's obvious they won't get the financing together, not to mention such a high risk project in a seedy area. Not to mention its wayyyyyyyyy to tall. My main concern is that it will blow over onto my house. On a serious note it will be great to have another high-rise to p...

Re: Orange Line (35W BRT)

So basically the BRT service that was supposed to start in 2010 and was pushed back to 2016, could now be opening in 2018 or later? I don't know, that seems to be moving awfully fast for us... Maybe we should push it back to 2020 to coincide with the start of construction on the SW Light Rail Line....

Re: Izzy's Ice Cream Factory

The foundation looked to be completed today with the area behind it (side opposite the park) being completely leveled and cleared. It's my guess there will be some slab on grade construction occurring on that side. Otherwise I don't see how it could possibly be big enough to produce ice cream.

Re: RS Eden Emanuel - (822 Third Street South)

Work is progressing here nicely although its is a very hard spot to get a look at. No pictures but I did see some concrete pouring, possibly working on the foundation. The existing building has basically been entirely gutted and boarded up for renovation.

This site is a very big hole now. There was a lot of excavation work going on today. Sorry for no pictures, but it is after just a hole in the ground....

Re: MSP Airport

Pretty sure through Delta -- if I recall correctly, their ticket counters already say Air France and KLM in addition to Delta. Just so long as they add their name to the signs over 494 and on the Light Rail lol. It may just be me but that's always something I look at when visiting other cities. Whe...

Yea this definitely needs to be posted. These are absolutely awesome ideas. I reaaaaaaally hope this gets done. It would help take away the feeling that the lakes are connected to uptown by an expressway.

View from the park across the pond. I Think this fits right in scale wise. From what I've seen up close it looks like this will fit in great with the stone facade.

I'd agree with that- Can't see this as being anymore than a realtor's dream, much like 394
I'm confused, did you change his quote? He said 21st St Station, not Green Line as a whole.

Re: MSP Airport

It will be interesting how it works with light rail in the middle. Yea it will be the first one in the country to involve light rail (assuming someone else doesn't build one first). The only thing I can think of is that all traffic, except for right turns, would have to stop while light rail went by...

Great news for Duluth! I remember reading back in the day it was believed Duluth would be larger than Chicago. I actually like the design and am glad retail is going to be included. Well its in the Governors hands now. I strongly encourage everyone who believes in this project to send out emails/call the Governor and let him know our opinons.
