Re: Minneapolis & St. Paul Fantasies and Speculations
Other than the first and second floor banking operations does Wells Fargo even have a large presence in their namesake tower anymore? They move their people around so much it's hard to keep track. They use to have several floors at 100 S. 5th, but I don't know if they're still around there or not. ...

I knew this was going to happen. Be prepared to see this proposal dumbed down Minnesota style.

His tweet stated "nice" announcement. He was probably referring to today's announcement that MPLS - STPL has been named the healthiest, fittest cities in the USA for the third year in a row.

Overall, I like what I see. Too bad they can't include a large amphitheater.

Re: 4Marq - (400 Marquette Avenue)
I hate to contribute to off-topic banter, but Denver's is by far the ugliest skyline of its size in America, if not the world. No one should look to Denver for inspiration in that department. Really? Denver is over 600,000 and it's skyline kicks the hell out of cities of similar size - Columbus, Ch...

So clever.True, it is not even close to 1000 feet, even if they added a spire.

Re: The Venue - (19 8th Street North)
Also, the Twins no longer sell out games, so the issue of outstate fans buying tickets for rain outs shouldn't be that big of an issue anymore. Within a week of just about any game you shouldn't have problem getting tickets anywhere in Target Field either through the box office or resale. It's ridi...

Re: 4Marq - (400 Marquette Avenue)
I find myself truly baffled at the ostensible lack of rigorous explorations as it relates to the design of some of the newer developments in the Twin Cities. If Minneapolis really wants to compete with other metros (e.g. Seattle, Denver, Chicago), it needs to step its design game up...like yesterda...

Obviously I would welcome a new tower. Are you thinking construction would begin in 2016 or would it be completed in 2016?I expect a 550-700' 1000 room hotel here sometime in 2016.

Re: Minneapolis & St. Paul Fantasies and Speculations
Well, Hennepin county and MPLS officials better get a move on this 1,000-room hotel because developers are now seeking approval for a 302-room hotel and a 347-room luxury hotel (hotel: 10 stories; retail: 3 stories) -- both in Bloomington. Isn't the recently opened Radisson Blu 500 rooms? I find it ...

Re: Mayo Expansion Proposal - Rochester
This MAYO expansion can be nothing but a great thing for the state and Rochester. I hope the Minnesota House doesn't blow this. I have a feeling they will blow it. I just read that many lawmakers actually made fun of Mr. Noseworthy's (President & CEO) comment that there are “49 states” eager to...

I'm still not a fan.I have to say, it's funny seeing people's 180 degree turn on the perspective of this project: from utter hatred a few months ago to almost admiration now! But hey, there's nothing wrong about being passionate about what goes into your city, right?

Re: 400 Marquette Avenue
Too bad this suddenly dense block sits next to a completely empty block. Hopefully something grand is envisioned for that place, as it is one of the last parcels right on the Mall. I agree. A large, mixed-use development would be ideal. Hopefully it's not a park, which would be a waste for such a p...

Re: 400 Marquette Avenue
I'm a bit surprised that the neither the MPLS-STPL Business Journal nor Finance & Commerce have picked up this story, especially when considering it's a 30-story residential tower and there is already financing in place. If there aren't any variance issues and financing is truly in place, then c...
