Re: Prospect Park - General Topics
I wasn't sure where to post this, but has anyone else heard about the U of M transitway being moved north to the railroad yard to make room for Prospect Park development? A quick glance at Google Maps and it appears it could run alongside the tracks and go under 280 and then quickly veer over to the...

If they got the 2nd tower going pretty quickly could they use the same crane? It appears to be in the center of the block.

They've never pulled anything off like this before so it doesn't surprise me. This is quite the leap up from what they've built on the Greenway and North Loop. This. Wonder if they simply jumped the gun and then found out they couldn't get financing for something of this magnitude and no experience...

Re: Nicollet-Central Streetcar
In an interview with our future mayor: " Q Is the Nicollet/Central streetcar project dead? Are we still raising money for it? I think it is dead. But yes, we are still capturing value on projects to fund a streetcar. Four years ago when I ran for council I was for it, for the economic developme...

Looks like a good interview with Frey here with some questions about zoning and density and the like: http://tcbmag.com/news/articles/2018/january/jacob-frey-on-why-minneapolis-needs-more-cops-and " Q Are you planning some sort of overhaul of the city’s zoning code to accommodate greater densit...

Re: U.S. Bank Stadium
Does anyone know what is going on with the exterior of the Stadium? I remember we were first told September, but it's now December and the cladding is still off on the prow. It seems like there's a story we're not hearing with regard to this.

Re: Thrivent's Surface Parking Lots
Interesting skyway connection from the east end to the HCMC ramp. That leads me to believe they know more about that surface lot, or at least what the future 'hope' is, since that skyway comes in at nearly the middle of the block. I agree. It's also interesting that the connection to HCMC has been ...

Re: Thrivent's Surface Parking Lots
No skyway connection to the southern half of the block? This sounds like a decent proposal and well thought out. It's probably about as best as we could hope for.

I noticed recently that the new bus shelters will be much smaller than the large ones we had before. Personally, I enjoyed the shelter the old ones provided when I waited for the bus in -10 degrees as a college student.

I've always wanted a playground here near the Greenway, aquaponics sounds good as well. I'm not sure how realizable any of it is however.

I'm guessing that proposal is long dead. (Although both concepts look stunning, be nice to see them design more towers in Mpls.) I just hope the developer is able to navigate the path to completion given that it appears they haven't done anything of this scale before.
