Re: Hennepin Avenue Reconstruction (Douglas to Lake St)
The state dodged a bullet when MAK was not chosen to be the DFL candidate for governor. She would have folded like a cheap suit.

Re: Hennepin Avenue Reconstruction (Douglas to Lake St)
MAK also announced she was running for governor from a farm. Either she truly identifies with being rural or she's a vacillating hack. the sooner the Frey/MAK/Radinovich realize they have no future in politics the better.

Re: Hennepin Avenue Reconstruction (Douglas to Lake St)
Jacob Frey is an exurbanite from the old confederacy. That fact manifests in many ways in the course of his governing of Minneapolis.

Re: Hennepin Avenue Reconstruction (Douglas to Lake St)
Its probably a bad idea to have two rural people in charge of the transportation policy implementation for the only decently sized urban area in a 500 mile radius.

St. Louis definitely has its charms and cool things going on, but the fundamentals undergirding the metro are not great.

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Office Market
My sources tell me that Wells Fargo is indeed allowing existing employees to be hybrid. Going forward all new hires will be required to go into the office. I'm sure they will allow exceptions for highly sought after candidates. At some point they will likely turn the screws more to get people back i...

Re: Excelsior and Lake Minnetonka Towns
Off topic a bit. I read a boilerplate managerial book years ago. The authors surveyed American executives about their routines to illustrate how one can emulate their success. It was what one might expect, work hard, have supportive friends and family, take care of yourself etc. The interesting part...

Re: Minnesota Governor Election 2022
His rhetoric and platform (if you can all it that) would seem that he would maybe shave a 1 or 2 points from GOP leaning suburbanites.
His candidacy probably helps the DFL.

Re: Minnesota Governor Election 2022
Have you ever seen Cory Hepola? Or heard him speak? No way the illicit drug user community gets behind this guy. He makes Wuthering Heights ass Jacob Frey look like Ray Lewis. My prediction is that two hours into the campaign season he's bullied by a 19 year old campaign volunteer, drops out, starts...

You gotta remember that with 1,000,000+ extra deaths, and the clear majority of the politically active victims GOP leaning, it wont be quite the home run some think.

Re: Minnesota Redistricting 2022
He was tight with the top of the party. It shows a complete lack of critical thinking. Some guy who has a bunch of inexplicable money who is saying whatever Republicans whatever they want to hear becomes a top donor. Very sketchy.
Jim Hagedorn definitely should be sweating about this right now.

Re: Minnesota Redistricting 2022
The head of party and their congressperson spouse were friends (hosted a podcast together) with a guy who was (what the indictment alleges) sex trafficking underage girls for donors to the party. He also posted dozens of pictures of himself with prominent to semi prominent GOP figures. It’s sensatio...

If the DFL doesn’t hammer the MNGOP for its close association with Tony Lazaro, they deserve to lose.
The entire fiasco does really highlight what a bunch of marks Minnesota republicans are.

The Minneapolis Federal Reserve is showcasing a new dashboard that will track housing in Minneapolis, specifically as it relates to the Minneapolis 2040 plan. Good thing to have professional researchers tracking if relaxed zoning does indeed provide benefit to affordable housing. https://www.minneap...

Re: Alatus Development - 411-417 Lexington Pkwy (MNDOT Snowpile site)
I would not believe that this current period of inflation would prevent the profitability of an apartment building. The largest single expense is going to be debt service. Which is locked in to origination of the debt. Since everyone believes no one is going to ever move out of a rent controlled apa...

Re: Saint Paul enacts rent control
Who knows? How that manifests would tell you what happens. Lower aggregate demand? Then who needs to raise rents far above 100 year averages (2.7%)? I think the city threaded the needle correctly with the figure specified. If a majority of Twin Cities workers suddenly started receiving COLA then may...

Re: Saint Paul enacts rent control
You missed the point I made. This environment, 2021, capital is starved for avenues of investment. The loans to build these projects will be just fine. No need to worry about servicing debts, the revenue grows and the repayment schedule doesn't change. The asset (Real Estate + building) is an area (...
