Re: St. Croix River Crossing

“I think this is a crazy proposal,” Rep. Bob Dettmer (R-Forest Lake) said. “I will not be voting for any kind of toll road or toll bridge between the great states of Minnesota and Wisconsin.”

Re: Why not Monorail? and transit / Elephant accidents.

i see the monorail can-o-worms has been opened. as i remember back more than 10 years ago from the LRT vs. monorail transit civil war in seattle (the other battle in seattle i suppose), i recall switching initially being a major issue but later as an engineering issue that could be solved relatively...

Re: St. Paul Athletic Club - (340 Cedar St)

there should be a compromise here that if this new sign is allowed downtown, 5 billboards should be removed. start with these three: two on top of the Rossmor Building: http://maps.google.com/?ll=44.951365,-93.093811&spn=0.00096,0.001635&t=h&z=20 one here above Babani's: http://maps.goog...

Re: Why not Monorail? and transit / Elephant accidents.

the main reason seattle was dead last in getting lrt was because they had a decades-long battle between monorail supporters and lrt supporters. read up on that if you want to open the monorail can of worms. they still have their monorail - it's just over a mile with two stations just as it was when ...

Re: Twin Cities Future Transit Map

I, too think that at least one version of this map should be kept for projects that are actively being planned, and have at least a reasonable chance of being built in the next 2 decades. I agree. This map is great but keeping it within the Met Council Vision is realistic. I would also like to see ...

I really enjoy the area that has developed around San Diego's Petco Park (which I know is baseball, and smaller). I'd really hope that DTE could become a really cool new neighborhood, maybe even on a bigger scale than that. http://www.photopilot.com/blog/media/blogs/photo/Petco.jpg It helps that Sa...

Re: Saint Paul Union Depot

There was a noticeable (very obvious) lack of people on their 20s and 30s at the opening. i found that to be unfortunate and a bit odd considering everything i hear about the younger people being more transit inclined. definitely a lot of silver-haired nostalgia seekers.

Re: Nic on Fifth - (455 Nicollet Mall)

If they use Kasota stone like their building across Nicollet then I think it will be a nice building.
do you mean on the first five floors only?

i'm hoping a skyway connection can be replaced going to the south...
