Re: West Broadway Corridor (Alternatives Analysis)
The two options are aBRT to Robbinsdale Transit Center or streetcar to North Memorial via West Broadway. The 7, 14 and 30 buses will be reconfigured no matter what Broadway alternative is chosen. You can see that on pages 16 and 17.

Re: Nicollet Hotel Block
The North Loop has one of the nicest playgrounds in Minneapolis. It's extremely walkable or bikable from the neighborhood. Heck, I bike there with my toddler in our bike trailer and I live near Broadway/Penn over north.

Re: West Broadway Corridor (Alternatives Analysis)
The PAC went with staff recommendations and only the two West Broadway alignments, aBRT or streetcar, have moved on. This document came before that decision and the GVR and McNair options are off the table. Sorry to disappoint Grant. I've heard rumors that aBRT is favored at this point.

Re: West Broadway Corridor (Alternatives Analysis)
ACS Is correct that the small starts constraint is the reason for ending at North Memorial. Also Robbinsdale doesn't want to tear up recently reconstructed roads. The info I shared is more recent than that PAC meeting. The PAC could drop the CAC's recommendation to include McNair as an option.

Re: West Broadway Corridor (Alternatives Analysis)
The CAC narrowed the alternatives down from five to three last week. The options included three streetcar and two aBRT routes. Much to my surpsrise McNair was back on the table after I'd mentioned it at the first meeting. The CAC dropped the two Golden Vally Road routes in favor of the West Broadway...

Broadway Curve RFP - Sherman Townhomes/Carriage Houses
CPED recently released a request for proposal for the remaining parcels on the north side of West Broadway from Knox to Common Bond's West Broadway Curve apartments. Sherman submitted the only response and I feel it's safe to share that they will likely get exclusive development rights pending a few...

Re: Broadway Flats - (West Broadway & Penn Avenue North)
Well, this is west of Penn. I stopped by mostly for the free cookies and to take my toddler for a wagon ride. I can't wait for the day that a development like this doesn't require every politician in spitting distance of 55411 to show up. Here's to hoping that phase 2 across the street, on the old B...

Re: Apartment Hunting General Discussion
The average rent in Chicago is around $700 higher than in Minneapolis. I'll admit that that number is skewed by the higher proportion of high end rentals in Chicago.

Here's the study fact sheet. http://www.metrotransit.org/Data/Sites/1/media/about/improvements/westbroadwaytransitstudy/westbroadwayfactsheet_032315.pdf Note that there is no McNair option. Lupe-Rose development (joint developers of soon to be under construction Broadway Flats) also have been hintin...

Re: West Broadway Corridor (Alternatives Analysis)
McNair sounded out of the question at the first CAC meeting, but perhaps I nudged it back on to the table. The city and WBC both see anything less than Penn/Broadway as a no go. Remember that this was born as a compromise to BLRT bypassing that same intersection. I can't make the CAC next Monday so ...

Re: West Broadway Corridor (Alternatives Analysis)
Any starter alignment that doesn't make it to Broadway and Penn is a half measure. This whole study comes back to the Bottineau alignment skipping over Penn. It was agreed that improved transit along each Penn and Broadway would come. Most importantly at the time was streetcar on Broadway. Now that ...

Re: Transit Crime
There is no way.. absolutely no way.. there were over several hundred kids. There definitely was. Started around halfway through the St Patrick's Day parade.Mostly saw a very large group of teens storming back and forth down Nicollet behind parade spectators. Didn't see any fights at that time. It ...

Re: Bottineau LRT (Blue Line Extension)
I don't think it's technically park land. I've never seen someone use it like that. I'm guessing it's MNDOT's land. There was of course a time when this area had a nice commercial hub.

Actually Grant the stations will be going here at Van White: http://goo.gl/maps/rEK5w
And Penn: http://goo.gl/maps/IB4ji
David, I don't think your idea is that far from RailBaron's multiway boulevard layouts. I'd definitely want to see as many trees maintained as possible.

Re: "C Line" Penn Avenue aBRT & Community Works Project
I've had a very hard time persuading other bike advocates on the PIC that the Queen bike boulevard is ideal. It does have its drawbacks, mainly that Queen doesn't go through at Penn. Some weird maneuvering would have to happen around Broadway and McNair to get through to Queen once again. That's why...

Re: "C Line" Penn Avenue Arterial Bus
Here's what I wrote over on the Streetcar Thread. Basically C-Line will likely move to 2017. I'll have more info after the next PIC meeting. Could we add Penn Avenue Community Works to this thread since it's all encompassing for the corridor? It would be odd to discuss the other aspects separately. ...

Re: Minneapolis Streetcar System
Apparently the TAB didn't approve all (or any I believe) of the funds for the The C-Line. It now isn't happening until 2017 hopefully. I'm on the Penn Ave Community Works PIC and they were pushing us to determine the long term road layout by last month. We had the vote last month and it went to the ...
