Re: Amazon's New HQ?

What's really irritating is that the short list came out to be the same short list it would have been if Amazon developed it internally.

But they sure got a lot of free publicity using the process they did.

This was at the CPC tonight. The revised CUP was approved, but the revised FAR was rejected. It's unclear what that actually means to a project that's already under construction.
I thought that was what I was hearing. It seemed too bizarre to be true.

Re: Rex 26 - 2601 Lyndale Ave S

The earthquake one is running now, but it must be on the far side of the site, because my printer isn't rocking back and forth. When it's really bad the postits on my monitor start vibrating visibly and my office chair kind of hammers against my butt. Yes, of course I've contacted Lisa Bender's offi...

Re: Rex 26 - 2601 Lyndale Ave S

All that disruption to store cars. Aldi's margins are razor thin. They have to move a massive amount of stuff through that store in order to post a modest profit. It would probably take an average of 100 bikes with trailers every hour the store is open to haul it all with human power. I'm guessing ...

Re: Rex 26 - 2601 Lyndale Ave S

I live in the 2600 block of Garfield, and I can confirm that the pile drivers (there are two of them) are absolutely horrific. Stuff vibrates off shelves and off the stove. One day the teakettle fell off the stove and spilled hot water all over the kitchen floor. My friends come to visit and they si...
