Check out Yoot Tower. It is basically Sim Tower 2.0, and the lead programmer (Yoot Saito) is the same. I still occasionally fire it up.Ah man, I wanted to get work done tonight. Now I'll be playing Sim Tower instead.

Re: Suburban Malls and Associated Retail News
Maplewood Mall will be adding an indoor inclusive playground next to the lower level entrance to Kohl's. That part of the mall has always been the deadest, and given the popularity of the tiny playground one level up I think it will be a nice draw. http://eastsidereviewnews.com/articles/2017/11/07/i...

Re: The Once and Future Dayton's
Hm. I bet it could, focused primarily on prepared foods and fresh produce. It would be significantly upmarket from Target (and Walgreens, which has prepared food too) and, unlike Whole Foods, connected to the skyway. Positioned more like a food hall lunch place (kinda like the old Dayton's basement...

Re: Stillwater Development News
A nice mid century building coming down to build something "hip" and generic that looks like it belongs in Uptown. Sad.
And Hy-Vee, gross. That whole area on 36 is an ugly Sprawlmart.

Re: Former Dayton's Building
Fun fact: in the 1970s, they used to have a department called "Grandma's Attic".Walking through it on the skyway level it smells and feels like an attic.

Re: Sons of Norway block redevelopment - 1455 Lake St W
It's an ugly as hell building. An opinion of ugly doesn't determine whether it's historic or worth saving. I happen to love the styling and the ground floor could easily be made more urban and street friendly without jeopardizing its character. I, too, happen to like it. It has a nice pattern, and ...

Re: New Bell Museum/Planetarium
Looks like it will be a beautiful facility. It's a bummer that this ended up in a cornfield in St. Paul. Would have been a great addition to downtown Minneapolis (or even to the main campus, where it could have been LRT adjacent). It's pretty hard to see any out of town visitors stumbling upon it i...

Re: Galtier Plaza
Also, I just came across this interesting post by John Mannillo in 2014: About five years ago, the year before the previous Mayoral election, Cray Research was negotiating with the Galtier Plaza building owner for a possible move to Lowertown. The City, in their haste to expedite the deal before the...

1. Can Nan Hynes be ousted already? She is totally incompetent at managing Galtier.
2. With the Fhima exiting, can that idiotic brick wall be removed and main entrance to the building be restored?

Re: Wabasha Center (Former Macy's) - Downtown St. Paul
A few interesting tidbits regarding this development were buried in the Finance and Commerce newspaper last month: Walgreen's landlord (Capital Real Estate) purchased 18,039 sq ft of space in "Treasure Island Center" for $2.5 million. Store will be similar to the store CRE built in Gaviida...

Summer is waning away. I'm curious if there has been any more rumblings about this project?Maryland 4-3 is going to be maintained for the second 6-week test period. Sounds like it's going well.

Re: Think tank launches campaign to build more lanes, blames investments in public transit and bike infrastructure
Someone named Stephen Colburn (whom I do not know) sent me an unsolicited message on Facebook, with a link to this long-winded propaganda , and includes gems like "Buses not only can move more people per hour than light rail, a higher percentage of those people will be comfortably seated rather...

Re: Think tank launches campaign to build more lanes, blames investments in public transit and bike infrastructure
Is it the most effective strategy to specifically call out one person by name, when that person is A. Quite popular, and B. Not running in 2018? I mean, yes, the next Dem candidate will be running on continuing Dayton's policies, but still. He's quite popular within Ramsey and Hennepin Counties. Hi...

Re: Minnesota Governor Election 2018
Ramsey County Commissioner Blake Huffman (GOP - Shoreview) is running for Governor. I don't think he'll get the nomination, but then again Jeff Johnson managed to do so just 4 years ago. I don't truly know where he's at politically, but on the surface he seems like a moderate. I haven't read anythi...

Where did you get this information from? I'm curious as to where that information came from as well. If it's true, I am totally in support of it. 6 weeks seems like a bit skimpy to fully collect and study the data. Most of the initial uproar has died down, it seems. There's still some pedestrian bl...
