Re: U.S. Bank Stadium Construction Updates
Think small Minnesotans. This is the most iconic building ever built in the city. We love our cheap Nic on 5th and 4matq so much, don't we. Please. Nothing will ever be built over 800 ft in this town. I love the new stadium replacing the embarrassment that was the metrodome. A great improvement to t...

Re: District 600 - 600 5th Street North
It's soooo easy to spend other peoples money isn't it? It's all about cost vs return. If they can save a few bucks here and there, guess what? More money in their pockets.

I actually like it. Much better than the 80's looking mess that's there now.

Re: Minneapolis Armory
Thanks for posting those pictures! What a beautiful building. It's probably my favorite since I was a kid. My Dad went to many Lakers games there back in the day and I love hearing the stories. I'm so glad it is getting refurbished and those windows look great. Should be there for another generation...

Re: Stadium LRT Station, Ped Bridge & Plaza (MSFA block)
I still don't see the need for this bridge. Sure seemed fine without it when the metrodome was there. I don't get it. Why didn't they build the stupid thing years ago then?

Re: U.S. Bank Stadium Construction Updates
That last green support will probably be there until the roof is enclosed. There is an orange elevator attached to it which they will need until they're done... Me thinks anyway.

It looks like they are trying to save the trees from the Trib's pocket park. Has that been confirmed? I would love those mature trees to stay!

Re: Minnesota Multi Purpose Stadium
The Vikings website has some pictures of the zinc cladding going up on the east side. They are a bit far away so there's not much detail, but I like it!

Re: Major League Soccer Stadium in Minneapolis
The Twins played in a football stadium for 28 years. Why the soccer team can't play in a 1B football stadium is pure blasphemy. The field is basically the same shape. Qwest Field in Seattle sure works good, on field turf as well. This soccer stadium is ridiculous. This idea has Miami 2.0 all over it.

There are two more sections of the main truss left. They also need to build one of the green temporary supports to hold them up so it will be a while until the main truss is complete - I think it will be sometime in June.

The old sign from the Metrodome in the lower right of the camera view is starting to be dismantled. The only ad remaining on it now is for US Bank. A hint of the name of the new stadium perhaps?

Re: Minnesota Multi Purpose Stadium
The tower crane inside the NW corner of the stadium is almost gone. Only a couple sections left to remove. They will be adding a couple of the "queens" trusses for the roof on the NW corner next according to the 4D video that was released last fall.

My most hated triangles on Earth will soon be gone!! Not to mention those god awful signs that remain from the Metrodome. I can't wait for those to come down too.

I haven't noticed much, if any pile driving during the recent boom. Is drilling the newly preferred way or is it required due to the hospital close by? I remember Target Field was all pile driving but can't think of any since.
