From the article:
"Engineers will also have to design tunnels, street crossings and consider existing freight operations on the Kenilworth Corridor in dealing with the 15-mile route between Minneapolis and Eden Prairie."
I don't remember any tunnels?

Re: Burch Pharmacy Building - (1934 Hennepin Avenue)
A lot of talk about that snow flying . The first floor is getting stone on the bottom of the store front window openings. Was all in and getting mortared this morning.

Re: City Walk Uptown - (1312 West Lake Street)
They had some kind of final closing motor-cross-rodeo. There were hay bales and a dirt track set up last week. My guess is that its remnants of that.

Re: Currie Park Lofts Phase I
Yeah, I think that historic building will be just fine where it is. What was that language about moving the Mixed Blood theater out. Really? So they could tear that down too? No thanks.

Re: Green Line (Central)
Noticed they are planting the medians in the vicinity of Vandalia- pavement roses and Carl forester grasses. It will look great if it is actually wedded and maintained. In the narrower areas such as near Territorial, they are laying old granite pavers. It's a really sharp look.

Re: Selby and Snelling
Wood covers the bricks on the upper floors and pebbles stucco covers the first. Easily restored like the building across the street that houses Patina. There is a huge parking lot to build on. Fix the building and put your cheap wooden housing behind it.

Re: City Walk Uptown - (1312 West Lake Street)
I would hardly call it their best design, those were 8 years ago. I think what everyone is looking forward to is a bit more density. Does this extend to Lagoon? If so, I'd like to see commercial fronting that street too.

Re: The Elysian - (711 4th Street Southeast)
I am intrigued by their choice of typeface for advertising. Will there be a mythological theme in the wallpapers or something? If anything, stencil the odd name in gold on the glass transom over the front door 1920s style. The Elysian what?

We had this conversation in one of the U of M threads. All brick has seams now. It's up to the designer to find good ways of hiding them or making them part of the design.

Re: MSP Airport
I was trying to figure out if it was to be built on the small lot on your left next to the ramp as you exit the drop off area or actually somehow squished into the ramp itself. Need a copy of that RFP.

Re: 700 Central Ave. NE (former Archive condos)
In quick reply, it's also important to realize is that the NE district is much older than Uptown, or even much of Lake street, influencing renewal and revitalization efforts.
