Re: Intercity rail to Chicago
A bit off topic: has there been discussion that there could be a dedicated train between SPUD and Interchange? I know I read it somewhere here, can't seem to find the thread.

Re: Green Line (Central Corridor LRT)
This morning I was in Lowertown and saw they were doing some LRV testing. One of the drivers happened into the coffee shop, and I cornered him and asked him about signal priority. Friendly guy who was more than happy to answer my questions. When I point blank asked him a yes no question as to signal...

Re: Green Line (Central Corridor LRT)
I hope that this isn't the finished signaling product. Today I was driving alongside a train, and it had to stop for a vertical bar while all automobile traffic took it's turn. What about the priority for trains? Off topic a bit, I was driving by terminal 2 airport yesterday, and at the cross cross ...

Re: Green Line (Central Corridor LRT)
Does anyone know for sure if the trains will have any signal priority at all on University? I talked to someone who was working on the engineering part of the project a few years back and she stated that there had been no plans for any signal priority.... I'm torn. I think some soft priority would b...

Re: Prospect Park Station - (2901 Fourth Street Southeast)
There seems to be some construction activity on this site. It was recently fenced in and now I see a small amount of building supplies as well as contractors vehicles. Perhaps these are for the Habitat for Humanity building which is across the street?

Re: Dismantling Downtown Freeways
I'd love to see that in DT St. Paul at the 35/94 commons aka spaghetti junction by the Penfield. I'm sure it's Prohibitivley expensive, but it would help quiet that trench.

Re: Midtown Corridor
Any mention as to a timeline for this project?
Also curious as to why they would have to decouple cars....why isn't there room for 3 car configuring?

Re: Bicycle Infrastructure
I consider it a minor miracle of rare foresight of our city that they were able to get the 35W rebuild to include that tunnel for a future possible access. There is hope right there.
I couldn't agree more. That is going to be great. Next fall they say it'll be completed?

Does anyone have an idea of the timeline for this project? The met council website was vague as to when they would start moving forward.

Re: 2700 University Ave
Yeah I live a block from there myself. I love having Dunns and also Snap so close (I use both), and a grocery store would be just great. That being said, I'm hoping for the best but not expecting much. It just seems like St Paul lacks the creative vision and initiative that Mpls has when it comes to...

Haha... Good point. Can someone explain the single/double track option they speak of in the report? Would there be times when they would double up the tracks to facilitate passing?

Re: Midtown Corridor
But a 30 foot trolley must be quite a bit lighter than a full two car LRV. So I guess they'd have to decide soon if they are ever going to run LRVs down there, no?

Re: Green Line (Central)
I read the article in the pioneerpress stating that officials *hope* that the line is up and running by the MLB allstar game. What!?!
That is just under a year from now. I'm sure there are many aspects to this project that escape me, but wow.
