Re: Bloomington - General Topics
This could easily be a mixed use development due to it being right by 98th St Station, this is a disappointment!

Re: Riverview Corridor Streetcar
This is not a "streetcar to Bloomington", this is light rail that will have short segments of mixed-traffic operation in St. Paul. Where exactly those segments will be and how long they will be, I don't know, and I wish the planners were more clear on that. I was also the impression that ...

Re: Riverview Corridor Streetcar
The Met Council/Metro Transit should make it clear they don't support this and refuse to be involved so Ramsey County will send this back to the drawing board. No reason at all we're talking about $1 billion+ for single-track, mixed-traffic operation. If it it's this or nothing, I'd almost rather h...

Re: Orange Line / 35W@94: Downtown to Crosstown Project
Orange Line begins service on Saturday, December 4! Even better, a week from today (Monday 10/18), the Lake Street Station opens for service, serving Metro Transit routes 21, 27, 535, 553, and 578; and SouthWest Transit routes 600 and 695. Is the MVTA still on their shit list over the redline or we...

Re: Riverview Corridor Streetcar
I agree, it’s definitely disappointing to here about mixed traffic/single tracking.

@Danpatch, if you are referring to this corner, yes this was purchased by the developer as well.

Re: Green Line Extension - Southwest LRT
Went on a tour of the Golden Triangle area of SWLRT on Saturday. It was pretty astonishing to see how much was done and how they have built over the wetlands. Found out a developer has purchased most of the land/wetlands near the station to develop into mixed-use development!

Re: Public Transit News / Current Events (MN only)
Why was this not an issue before the Covid cutbacks? Don't they usually just do a bus replacement when they need to do maintenance? If signal priority was granted to green line buses it would go about the same speed as trains. The maintenance demands of a train line that's brand new then one that's...

Here's this morning's committee presentation: https://metrocouncil.org/getdoc/68cf54f7-76ef-4a18-8870-88c221d31d24/Presentation.aspx Looks like the line will be elevated at North Memorial Hospital. Considerations to build at diamond at Bottineau and Bass Lake Road. Bottineau would be elevated, but ...

Re: Blue Line Extension - Bottineau LRT
Disappointed but not surprised to see this opposition to sacrificing road capacity for transit. I have a strong feeling this will force Hennepin County and Met Council to elevate it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Which could be the best option I don’t disagree, elevated would be great! Sent fr...

Re: Bloomington - General Topics
I guess I am excited to have a Hyvee on a rapid transit line(Orange), cause all the others are impossible to get to without a car. Aren't you forgetting about the Mississippi Market that's literally a block from the Orange Line as well in the same area? Wish this area had more residential apartment...

Re: Public Transit News / Current Events (MN only)
Does anyone know when Metro Transit plans to have all Route 7 trips extend to Cedar Point Commons in Richfield? Somewhat recently they extended the non-rush hour trips to 66th/Richfield Parkway, but not rush hour trips (ostensibly because there are other transfer options during rush hours?) Any cha...
