Urban vs. Suburban Lifestyle

so i had never been up by target's campus in brooklyn park. long story short drove up by there over the weekend for another reason. what a depressing site to see a sprawling block of office buildings surrounding by acres of surface parking. bad on target for choosing to expand way out in an exurb. a...

Re: Southwest LRT

that's total and complete joke to give any money for that stupid ballpark....i mean please. what a waste of this money. we don't need more light rail, but we do need a ballpark for a sub minor league baseball team in a market with a major league team already. this is just politics and lobbying. i ho...

doesn't it loop at the edge of that property to preserve it for future development? that was what I was always led to believe.

Re: Vikings Stadium

i hope it's not HKS. sadly the vikings ownership is obsessed with the indianapolis stadium and seem to want to copy it. i personally find it a boring design. the cowboys stadium is ok for texas...an oversized monstrosity. i do like it's modern approach. i'd prefer something akin to a european futbol...

Re: Lowry Avenue Bridge

an iconic bridge we have to look at for 100 years is worthwhile. give's the community a sense of pride of place. look at the missed opportunity that was the "new" wabasha bridge. bridges should be built right and beautiful when sited in such prominent locations. http://www.carpenterlowings...

Re: Trader Joes (Lyndale and 27th)

she's a joke ....uptown needs a more receptive public official not someone who is a crank to new business. did anyone catch her response to the possibility of a craft brewer in uptown? she's laughably bad. add this to her noise ordiance fiasco from a couple years ago and you get someone who should b...

that's too bad about artspace not moving forward with that building on washington. that vacant lot really stands out next to all the new development along that street.

Re: Mozaic

After defending this project from afar I finally over there Friday night. Color me underwhelmed. The "park" is tiny and basically a patio/passageway. Yes it's great to have new modern office space in uptown but the building is a design disappointment. Then you look across the greenway and ...

Re: Vikings Stadium

i generally like your posts but give it a rest already. most NFL stadiums are in city centers-and they do just fine! why are we still debating this? did we all get in a time machine and go back to 2011? tailgating at NFL games won't be an issue for the vast majority of dates this facility will accom...

Re: Mozaic

yea let's ban the developer because the building isn't a architectural masterpiece. it's a wonderful building for it's office users that is adding a lot to uptown. the developer has done a ton for uptown and north minneapolis. doing projects when it wasn't fashionable. doing projects in risky financ...
