A new terminus would most likely be chosen according to the Project Manager of the project, could end in Vadnais Heights instead. Re: Downtown Minneapolis - News & General Topics
That would make Downtown Minneapolis the 17th largest city in the state, just ahead of Apple Valley and Minnetonka.
If they reach their goal of 75k, they'd be the 9th largest city, just behind Woodbury.

Of the non-parkland/wetland, breaks down as:
60% Single-Family
20% Townhomes
6% School
5% Senior Housing
5% Apartments
4% Commercial
Looks to be pretty standard/boring suburban development. Only seems noteworthy since the U is involved.

Re: Orange Line / 35W@94: Downtown to Crosstown Project
There's a reason for everything, folks. And the reason why a station at 38th St wasn't ever considered as part of *this highway construction project* is because our Regional Transitway Guidelines call for highway BRT to have stations every 2 miles. [...] And referring again to that lovely Met Counc...

I used the Orange Line twice last night in the thick of the snowstorm, and they were both on time plus drove faster than the cars navigating the snow. It was very nice!

I've noticed no changes! For real, am I the only one for whom the whole look of the board changed? All of the buttons are super small and everything is harder to navigate, but I can't find an option to change the appearance.

Re: Minneapolis 2021 Elections - Mayor, City Council, BET, Park Board
If those are the only 3 options, which do you pick in D.C. on the morning of January 6th? I think I go with Frey and Walz. Who am I? If I'm the president they're trying to keep in office, I'd be out there in the streets trying to calm them. If I'm the capital police chief, I'd have not had my head ...

oooooh, I misunderstood you. Mea culpa.Right - it's the cool neighborhood to hang out in because of all those things, but there's still no way to live there if you don't want to live in a student-oriented building, but also can't afford to buy a >$400k SFH.

Re: Prospect Park - General Topics
Yeah, that's disappointing. I remember back in 2014 telling some of my friends that I was graduating with that we should move to Prospect Park, it was going to be the cool neighborhood in a few years. But, we didn't, since there was practically nothing in the neighborhood except student rentals and...

Just biked the new alignment on 1st Ave S from 28th to 15th. It is now a 2-way bike avenue on the west side of the street. Painted line protection from 28th to Franklin, and then parked cars between you and traffic from Franklin to 15th. I like the arrangement much more than the skinny bike lane on ...

We get all these visions for what we'd like an area to be, but Home Depot and Target and Walser Toyota need to go somewhere. As a resident of Bloomington I don't want to have to drive to Burnsville to buy a toilet flapper or get my oil changes. They might as well stay on American as anywhere else, ...

The riots and unrest couldn't have had zero impact, but it was promising to see that 196 units were proposed at the old O'Reilly and Dollar General locations on Nicollet. This is a location that was literally burnt down during that period, and developers are happy to come in and build almost 200 uni...

This is a great question and amazing that not much is out there. I have looked too, and what I've found doesn't feel very official. Southdale isn't in Bloomington. I think the point was that Southdale is actually the 3rd largest jobs/housing node in the Twin Cities, thus further diminishing Bloomington's status as a "city" versus just a suburb. Bloomington has a lot of people, and a decent number of jobs, but almost a...

What plot of land in Bloomington is big enough and zoned to hold a relocated car dealership? I'm sure car dealers would just move to a bigger plot of land if one were available, but that is scare closer to the city, so the trend is to expand up with structured parking rather than out. This has the ...
