Re: 10th & Marquette Handicraft Building Development
I'd be pretty okay with this development falling through, and would hope that some of the unique retail that used to be here would find a way back.

Re: Downtown Minneapolis General Topics & Development Map
The ICCM Inner City Church building (this thing: https://www.google.com/maps/@44.96482,-93.2651701,3a,60y,240.9h,85.05t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sa8kX39_UqJKKmFJjgfZsWg!2e0!7i13312!8i6656) on Park is getting a much needed facelift, adding some big windows facing the street. Aww I've always liked that fun...

Re: Bicycle Infrastructure
I like the lack of center line in that I think it actually does help slow cars. But the advisory bike lane means that cars regularly drive in the bike lane. Like all the time. Just cruising along with half of their car over the line. That's how they're supposed to work though. Cars can drive in the...

Keeping the tradition of business names you have to Google to make sure you formatted them properly alive, Orangetheory Fitness is going into the old FirstTech space.

Re: North Loop Neighborhood
Yeah transit to the North Loop should really be addressed. We live in the Lyndale neighborhood, and my wife drives to work in the Tractorworks Building most days (bikes sometimes, transit NEVER) because it simply takes too long to take a bus (and her employer provides free parking). I like Grant's i...

Re: North Loop Neighborhood
Serious question: Something I really like about the North Loop right now is that most of the streets are two lane two way streets. Few turn lanes, few stoplights (mostly 4-way stops), and generally calm enough traffic levels that crossing streets mid block is pretty straightforward. How would more a...

Re: Southside - General Topics
Looks like a retail building is being erected in the tiny vacant lot southeast corner of Lake and 5th Ave S. I'm out and about so I'm not gonna research it now, but I'd bet it's a Sabri project. Kinda wild that he's basically the only developer building new small scale, walkable, affordable general ...

Re: Uptown Retail & Restaurant News
The property was in the City's Vacant Building Registration, leaving the owner with the choice to bring it up to code, demolish it, or pay an annual fine of ~$7000. Looks like the owner chose demolition.

Not surprising to me. Always seemed dead and I don't think anyone's asked for a ride to or from there in the 5+ years I've been pedicabbing.

Re: Downtown Minneapolis General Topics & Development Map
I like that it's out of context and hope it stays put--a good reminder of downtown's residential history.
