Anyone have a reason why they'd do that? It doesn't seem like they wanted the sidewalk to meet the railroad perpendicularly, because all of ten feet away no such jog exists where the sidewalk crosses the LRT tracks. If the project was more forthcoming ASAP it might have been possible that the county and municipalities made more long term plans for more robust detours, instead of signs pointing towards paint protected gutter-lanes on dangerous county roads. I have some hope imagining that it was known much soone...

They sure were! Some long nights going south on Marquette. The timing of lights seemed against moving evening buses, but the turns off Marquette were the big bottlenecks.If express buses come back to pre-covid levels this is a bad idea. Marq/2 was packed with buses during peak hours.
