Re: Mayo Expansion Proposal - Rochester
I had the exact same thought about the old Arby's site...if that could've been this style, 15 stories, with the recessed glass tinted blue to signify the lakes, it would be a statement for Uptown. Since I don't have a say, I'll just be very happy that Rochester is getting a striking new building, an...

Not sure if this was mentioned here during its planning stage, but a tri-plex is under construction at 1110 Raymond, just north of Energy Park Dr.

Re: RBC Gateway (Four Seasons) - 37 stories - 519'
I realize it's a pipe dream, but if the post office could be converted to something resembling Midtown Global Market, possibly with some residential or office space filling out whatever area would be left over, I believe it would be a game-changer for the Riverfront/Mill District/Gateway.

Re: Ideas / Wish List for Mpls in 2021
I would love to see planning begin for a public art/architecture installation that involves as much individual participation as possible. I'm thinking along the lines of the MN Wild's "This Is Our Ice" opportunity, which invites people to bring water from their favorite lake or pond to cre...

Saw a "for sale" sign in front of the old Tierney building today, and Four Star auto shop seems busy as ever...which is great for them, but just wondering if anyone has heard anything more about this proposal recently?

At least one house has been demolished at the NW corner of Finn and Marshall, I *believe* for this: https://unionparkdc.org/sites/default/files/Marshall%20Lofts%20Exterior%20Renderings.pdf Marshall is seeing a nice little burst of development between Snelling and Cretin...too bad Izzy's couldn't sta...

Re: Saint Paul - General Topics
The NIMBY folks on Nextdoor are abuzz about a new 3, maybe 4 story residential-over-commercial building proposed for the Suds America laundry block on the north side of Marshall, just east of Cleveland. My scouring for more official info was fruitless, so I'm curious if anyone else has come across a...

The Twins are officially "that" neighbor at the meeting who doesn't get that they don't actually own the subject property. I get that they're all about their bottom line and are worried about marketing rights, but it's like they don't realize that an increasingly vibrant area surrounding t...

Re: Duluth - General Topics
As Duluth is a jumping off point for Lutsen -- and the SHT passes through Duluth -- I figured this was a fitting thread for this. It's not everyday we see a ski resort expansion plan in MN, and responses to it. Interested to see how this works out. https://segroup.maps.arcgis.com/apps/MapSeries/inde...

Re: Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board
The current set-up does make me wonder if the road portions of the river parkways (to be overly specific ;) ) could remain as one-ways without too much public outcry. I imagine some homeowners and businesses along the routes would be opposed, but it would really allow for a greener and more relaxed ...

Re: Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board
It would make more sense to me if they dedicated the pathways to pedestrian traffic and moved all bike traffic to the parkway lane. Even half the parkway is still wider than the bike path, and that way all pedestrians would be consolidated. That said, I'm thankful Minneapolis has taken this step at ...

Re: Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board
I think there's a handful of reasons that favored keeping a golf course, albeit reduced in size, at Hiawatha: historical importance, especially with respect to the Twin Cities African-American golf community; political climate in the community at-large; proximity for a specific recreational type in ...
