Re: Southside - General Topics
Borton Volvo covers a couple blocks, so there should be additional room for development even with Walgreen's moving over. Will be interesting to see what develops.

Re: Theater Garage Marquee Apartments - (Franklin & Lyndale)
I disagree with the first bullet point. The difference in height due to the hill between Lyndale and Aldrich probably counts as 2 stories, so I don't think a six story building is really out of place. I understand if the developer was proposing 10+, but I think there is enough precedent in the surro...

Re: Holy Angels Strip Mall- Nicollet & 66th
The title of this thread makes me laugh. If the strip mall is built, I hope they do call it Holy Angels Strip Mall.
Seriously, I hope this project doesn't come to fruition!

Re: Hwy 610
As the connection of MN 610 to 94 is completed over the next few years, do you think it will finally push the need to get the traffic signals off of MN 252?? It would seem odd to me that if folks use Mn 610 to MN 252 to 94 as a bit of a bypass of 694 that the at-grade crossing should be removed on M...

Anyone have a clue why MnDOT has a temporary easement on this property? Seems with the shape of the easement, something was being done with the railroad tracks, but wondering if MnDOT owns the adjacent land.

Re: Westminster Church
Don't discount Westminster's fund raising abilities directly from parishioners and their associates. Don't forget that some of the "old money" families (i.e. Dayton) attend this church, so anything is possible!

Re: Lake & Nicollet
Just curious if we have hard data/confirmation from Sears stating that it is one of their highest performing Kmarts in the country? I'd assume it is pretty busy location for them, but wondering if the sales per sq ft justify the space or if they can do similar business in a smaller footprint.

I drive down LaSalle home from work each night and it was cool to see some of the units lit up and sheet rock hangers working away about 6p.

It's on the 8th floor of Target Plaza and connects Target Plaza South with Target Plaza North and is only for employees. Acts as quick way to get between meetings/offices within both buildings.

Re: Road Geek Topics
On the topic of control cities...why don't we use control cities, regions, or names more in the Twin Cities area on road signs? While traveling northbound on 494 in Plymouth, I laughed at a sign that only had country/state road numbers listed on it for the next three exits. I get that MN 55 isn't ca...

Re: MSP Airport
I noticed tonight while on 35W heading south of downtown (about 42nd or 46th street) that the sign on the freeway indicating to follow MN 62 East for the airport had a change to say "MSP Airport" instead of "Int'l Airport". What a waste of money and time for MnDOT to place a gree...
