That's why I always thought it was an extra-dumb theory, since the IDS is way taller than 500'.Nah, the guy on here who was pushing the conspiracy always referred to 500'. It's based around a fealty to the height of IDS.

Re: Gateway Tower (RBC Plaza Jr.) - 30 stories - 458'
And, indeed, less than 15' shorter than the tallest building in St. Paul? New conspiracy theory - the ban on 500' tall buildings in Minneapolis isn't a shadow directive from the Minneapolis City Council, but rather the Saint Paul City Council, as a moratorium so Saint Paul could catch up and, event...

I like it. Feels like a forest or something, and I don't think it's excessively dark. I'll give you that stretch is one of the less-lit areas.

Re: Soccer Stadium and Snelling-Midway Development
Yeah, like I said I'll reserve judgement until I see it in person when it's done and lit. But I can't imagine they'd pick a bad-looking wrap for a $250m stadium.

No, the sample they had at the season seats "experience" was the same grayish color.considering its a light colored material on a dirty jobsite is it possible it will be cleaned at the end and be more white-ish?

It was also designed to be backlit, so I guess I'll reserve judgement until I see it in person all lit up.I've been thinking the same thing, as I drive by this every day to work. Maybe it will improve once it's fully wrapped, but right now it just looks really cheap to me.

Re: Soccer Stadium and Snelling-Midway Development
I got to see a little bit of the fabric up close at the season ticket seat experience thing, and it's more grey than I thought it would be from the renders.

That Pop Sci article is pretty sloppy: "Super Bowl LI" and "glass roof" (even though they do talk about the ETFE later).Popular Science

Re: Minneapolis Skyway System
TBH I think everyone here that's familiar with the skyway underestimates the problems with it. You're complaining about wayfinding/signage (which are indeed terrible) when you're using it, but failing to realize that if you're not from here the skyway itself isn't even something you're going to inve...

Re: 1500 Nicollet Avenue - Dominium Development - 6 stories / 184 units
If someone were to build on those two lots that would be a bit less of a barren connection to the rest of the stuff on Nicollet in Stevens Square. Crossing the freeway wouldn't be so bad if there was something immediately at the end of it.Then you get the highway, then an empty lot.

I parked in a building like that in Chicago a couple of years ago and it was hilarious. I think there were like 15 spots on each floor.

The base of the tower would include retail, a parking structure and a skyway connection to the Convention Center.

It's not a church, it's owned by a church. It's just an office building from the 50s.There's going to be a movement to "preserve" the church, right?

Since they did not make a new post on their Facebook page, and only added a comment to an existing post, no one is going to see that. That explains why they have raised a grand total of $40 on their latest fundraiser. And because the majority of the neighborhood is apparently fine with the developm...

That's priceless. It felt like the tax-deductible part was sketchy from the beginning. The comment after this one clarifies that and asks them to remove the part about with regards to tax-deductibility.
