Re: Vikings Stadium

Will they announce at this time how the MD will come down? We haven't had a good implosion in the cities for while. Lowry Bridge, Conservatory, Curtis hotel. Given the short construction timeline wouldn't be surprised if it is impolded. Maybe get one of the Dome haters(Ditka?) to press the button.

Re: Vikings Stadium

Washington Redskins want out of FEDEX field - built 1997 - Also Edward Jones in STL - 1995. On the other hand - Arrowhead in KC built 1972 with a renovation in 2010 for 400 - still a great facility although located in a first rung burb and pretty much limited to football.

Re: Saints Lowertown Ballpark

Looks great - should be able to use this facility for a lot of various functions other than baseball. Just getting rid of the old Gillette building is a positive - opens light and vistas for lowertown. Didn't see the Lafayette bridge in drawings. Too bad the bike path for the bridge is on the east s...

WCCO had a piece on Jefferson Lines using the SPUD for the first time...Bus rolls up with MINNEAPOLIS on its display. http://minnesota.cbslocal.com/2013/01/14/union-depot-welcomes-inner-city-bus-service/ Good to see some use. Was there last weekend and had the whole place to myself. Noticed that the...

Re: Saint Paul Retail News

Before the city goes rushing into another OPPORTUNITY(subsidy), let's see how the current projects - rail -Penfeild/Lunds - Saints..etc pan out. Ideally everything works out and the site becomes attractive for re-use or new development without too much public involvement.

Re: Saint Paul Retail News

This building still has a fairly large parking ramp associated with it that may entice a future retailer or some sort of office use. Just a thought but ECOLAB has grown steadily over the years across the street. Don't know what their future office needs are downtown. They also have a campus in Mendo...

Great news - Anything will look better then the plywood they have had there for years. Maybe they will even bring back the 'OZ' nightclub.

Re: Metropolitan State University Expansion

Carbone's on Maria and 7th was the first. There was an article in the Highland Vil. a few months back when the one on Randolph had their aniversary. Interior hasn't changed in decades. Super thin crust. Like the Savoy down 7th and Yarruso's on Payne they have a loyal cliental base. Would hate to see...

Re: Metropolitan State University Expansion

The Pizzeria you mentioned was/is the first Carbone's in the metro. Grew up on the bluff and still know the number by heart 771-5553. Metro State is the old St John's Hospital for those who do not know. Thanks for all the St paul updates! I don't know if it is mentioned in the transportation thread ...
