LOVE this! Much better than a one level commercial building that had been intended/planned for this space.

Re: Mall of America Transit Station
I'll also add that there is ventilation moving fresh air throughout the area. That's always been the case - even before light rail entered the transit station.

Re: Elliot Park
One would think there should be a way for them to give access to that turnaround through the parking ramp, instead of off 11th. There's already a walkway cut through there - would be tough to make that a tad bit bigger for vehicles. https://i.imgur.com/Wlblzlt.png?1 https://i.imgur.com/FhdefTF.png?1...

Megahotel included in new plans for Mall of America water park *LOCKED* The Mall of America is working on a plan for a 500- to 700-room hotel that would be attached to the massive water park that is nearing City Council approvals. The plans for such a hotel came to light in documents related to the...

Re: Eagan, Apple Valley, Burnsville - General Topics
I just think it's a weird place to build apartments. It would be convenient for someone who worked at Ecolab, Prime, or one of the other companies nearby, but there's nothing else in the area for shopping and services, other than the new Costco soon and a few restaurants at 55 and Dodd. This is les...

Re: Orange Line / 35W@94: Downtown to Crosstown Project
Just heard that the 4th Avenue and 10th Street to I-35W southbound ramp is opening today 2 years ahead of schedule. Didn't have a chance to get the full story this morning so anyone know more detail about it and how it effects the rest of the project? http://www.startribune.com/key-ramp-to-i-35w-fr...

Re: Washington and Portland Mixed Use - 22 stories
Fire station looks much worse in this They changed the floor plan, with that corner going from 2 stories to 1 with a shift in where the trucks park. My guess is this was a Fire Department ask. First Floor (previous & updated): https://i.imgur.com/svxW9ZO.jpg Second Floor (previous & updated...

Re: Washington and Portland Mixed Use - 22 stories
The TIF plan report does have what appears to be an updated rendering of the tower. I actually really liked the previous design so the new look is a bit disappointing in my opinion. Agreed, it's a minor adjustment, but I do prefer the darker material featured on the west side from the previous rend...

Re: Thrivent Headquarters Block - 6th St and Portland Ave
The new Thrivent building is not as bad as the renderings made it seem, but it is still a bit on the disappointing side. This could have been a much more interesting structure, but it is basically a banded box with a skinny box tacked on to the end of it. The finishes are better than I anticipated....

Re: Southwest LRT (Green Line Extension)
In case anyone was confused (like me), I sent an email to someone on the SWLRT team inquiring about the status of the EP Town Center station. I had heard through media reports that the City of Eden Prairie had contributed funds to include the station during construction and be ready when the line o...

Re: Bottineau LRT (Blue Line Extension)
If you look at a map, Target Field is really close to the 94 viaduct. Put it underneath, untop, tear it down..etc. This is s a totally different thought. But why not just go up Lyndale to Lowry and then over to Robbinsdale? Sure, Target Field is close to the 94 viaduct... but getting from Target Fi...

Re: Bottineau LRT (Blue Line Extension)
I was looking at some of the engineer in plans for the blue line extension. He travels and Olsen Memorial Highway for a good distance. Does anyone know if the plans are to give trains priority how long is the memorial highway? I believe the highway is owned by the state or county, they can be diffi...

Re: 38th Street Corridor & 38th St Station Development
A year ago, Sara posted this: Apparently the Lander development for 38th Street Station is delayed at least a year. My understanding (from an email from CM Johnson) is that there is a financing gap that is somehow related to the affordability requirement attached to the LCDA grant. Reading between ...

Re: Southwest LRT (Green Line Extension)
Can we have non-topic comments put into Anything Goes, or have a catch-all Transit area?Might be an obvious question, but does the full weekend closure have to do with the amount of time it takes to repair the tracks? Could the repairs be done quicker if there were more manpower?
