Re: Downtown Minneapolis Retail News
Brooks Brothers moved across the hall from their old location this past summer. They were open a month or two and then moved out. Banana Republic in IDS is moving out too. 60-80% off the whole store currently. Almost every store in skyway level of gaviidae is closed. Retail downtown is looking quit...

Ideas / Wish List for Mpls in 2021-2022
Thought I would start a strand for people to share things they would like to see happen in Minneapolis this year and going forward. I think the city has really made huge strides in greening efforts, walking/biking infrastructure improvements, etc. and it seems building continues in areas of the city...

Why the bank hate real estate wise? I would think it's a good, useful resource to have in a neighborhood, and a good foot traffic builder. Sorry to anyone who works in the banking industry, just my personal opinion most are are greedy, corrupt organizations. Look at the fallout from the Wells Fargo...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Retail News
Has Brooks Brothers closed in City Center? I thought they were going to reopen with a remodel? Google maps lists it as "permanently closed" and looks like BB has been closing stores nationally with little media coverage since filing for bankruptcy over the summer. Well that sucks. Never s...

Delayed response. The point is to bring some cheer. Glad to see they did put up lighting this year. Still would like something other than just white lights on trees, but better than nothing. This whole year isn't really "festive" so what's the real point?

Excellent news for the Loring neighborhood. Helps make this area a draw for not only the neighborhood but also those from the Convention Center...According to posters in the windows, Sonora Grill will be opening in Spring 2021 in a midblock space on Nicollet.

Re: Seven Points Uptown (Calhoun Square)
Who else is tired of banks taking up prime retail space? Also - banks holding onto prime land real estate that would make for great redevelopment?According to city building permits looks like they are going to be opening a Chase bank location in 3,400 sqft of the main floor of seven points.

Does anyone have any photos of the holiday lighting/greening along Nicollet and Peavey? Would love to see. I know Nicollet must still be sad sight with windows boarded up, etc. Not really festive.

Thanks for posting. Overall like the design. One thing I love about Loring is you can see architectural design through the decades right next to each other.

307 Oak Grove Apartment Proposal
Came across an announcement on the Citizens for a Loring Park Community website about a Zoom meeting held 11/16 to go over a 5-story apartment proposal designed by Snow Krelich Arcitects. Anyone attend or have any images of the design?

I believe that the numbers do not truly reflect the amount of crime that is going on out there. Even within my neighborhood there are many instances where people who are victims of crime are not calling the police because they know that they will not get a response or they feel like it's a waste of...

The point is this - regardless of perception or actual increase/decrease in criminal activity - it's just not acceptable at any level. No one should feel unsafe or fear of injury or being killed. As a society we need to take a serious look into the motivations for criminal activity and what can be d...
