Re: Uptown Restaurant News

That's a really successful node that is lacking in restaurants.
It does have Saguaro and Mac's Fish and Chips. Both are good.
And Subway, Starbucks, Prima, and a yogurt place

Re: Grocery Stores

If Cub had a better deli I would shop there, instead I will shop at Kowalski's, Lakewinds or Lund's. Not impressed with the Target deli but their shelf items generally are not expensive. Does Hyvee have good deli items?

Re: St. Paul Skyway System

I walked through the entire skyway on a Saturday, I think I only saw one or two other people. It's kind of a surreal experience...I recommend everyone try it at least once, especially since you may not be able to experience it if the population continues to grow downtown.

Re: Lyndale Garden Center Site - Richfield

Regarding the striping configuration on Lyndale: Richfield is restriping Lyndale between 64th and 66th (adjacent to this development) to eliminate one of the through lanes and create bike lanes and on-street parking. Wow, this is great news! And on-street parking, it's about time. Unfortunately, no...

Re: Minneapolis Skyway System

I would like to see the skyways system expanded with room for bicycling and walking and better street connections. Imagine year round bicycling through an indoor skyway network. Would be a unique and awesome draw to our area.

New runs should be strung with Cat6 or even better Cat6a, but not Cat5. Cat5 is defunct.

I like Arbor Lakes. Because I have no desire to ever shop or eat there, it keeps those things far away from me.

Re: Suburbs - General Topics

Cottage Grove is interesting. There is very little retail period in Cottage Grove. It's pretty much all residential and until recently there was not even a Caribou coffee shop and a few chain fast food place. For the most part, the people of Cottage Grove actually did not want a Home Depot at all. T...

Re: Does Minneapolis have too many stoplights?

I'm going to head over to 28th&Grand at 5 AM tomorrow morning and hit the button repeatedly. WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT. Bahahahahaha. I think some of these buttons I think they changed the mechanics, you can't repeatedly press it and hear "wait" because kids/adults would sit there and hamme...

Boulevard trees

I notice that north of 42nd street east of 35W tree coverage is much more sparse in Powderhorn and Phillips. Also many sidewalks don't have boulevards and trees. South of 42nd street tree coverage is much more dense. You can see it on Google Maps just about anywhere. What is up with that?

50th and France is horrible to get around in in a car- no wide roads, double turn lanes, etc, and far from a freeway.
Not sure if trolling or serious. :D

Re: Future cars / Driverless cars

Light Rail Train = land line: fixed location
Autonomous cars = cell phone: goes anywhere

Ironically by the time SW LRT is built, autonomous cars will be becoming mainstream, and LRT will become obsolete.
