Re: Blue Line (Hiawatha)
Yes, they've been considered in the past, a skyway of sorts at 38th street, connecting a possible development (currently becoming Longfellow Station) diagonally to the sidewalk next to the 38th street station, and an underpass tunnel from the Walgreens parking lot to 46th. I can't find files, sorry.

Re: Southwest Corridor (Green Line Extension)
I don't see what the map is trying to accomplish. So to keep freight traffic from disrupting a high school, you propose moving it adjacent to Methodist Hospital?

CR-73 on the Purple Line should be named "Hopkins Crossroad".

Re: Star Tribune Blocks
Its nice to discuss a development, and not have to think "wait a minute, we can't build here, we might want to build a STADIUM on these blocks".

Re: Metropolitan Council
Part of me likes the non-political nature of an appointed body of professionals. But part of me steams when nutjobs like Annette Meeks get appointed to represent North Minneapolis.

Minnehaha Park
Finally getting some decent playground equipment. Does this count as "development"? *Public Input Sought for Minnehaha Park Playgrounds* The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) is seeking input on concepts for the two Minnehaha Park playgrounds. A new survey to comment on the revi...

Re: Star Tribune Blocks
I think closing 5th to non-transit traffic and converting 6th to 2-way after the Vikings stadium is complete would help these blocks immensely.

Re: Washington Avenue
Washington is a main connector and business district. Any removal of direct access between I35W and Washington is a non-starter. Yes, connect to some of the other avenues. I like 2nd Street having a more direct connection to the 10th Ave bridge. And I like 4th/Riverside connection (though I'm trying...

Re: 2013 Minneapolis Municipal Elections
Schiff, I heard, was none too happy with how his ward 9 got squeezed off Howe/Longfellow (white liberal) neighborhoods, and pushed more into Powderhorn Park/Central (Hispanic). But he bit his lip about it to keep from sounding too racist, and spoil his chances of running for Mayor as the Anti-Stadiu...

Re: HWY 36 walkway????
There are two large freeway signs here, so a bridge between them wouldn't be easy. However, could the two sign structures be combined, with the pedestrian bridge together?

Re: Intercity rail to Chicago
Read an article that Menards will soon be flying employees from Eau Claire to Minot for one week shifts, living in hotels, to staff stores in the booming region. This is crazy. And got me thinking about Intercity rail. Is Minnesota pursuing the wrong approach? Should instead of focusing our efforts ...

Re: White Bear Corridor
I don't think you need another Mississippi bridge for this line to work. Co-align with Green until the UofMN Transitway, then follow the transwitway to the East Campus, and up Snelling, Fairview, or Hamline before heading off to White Bear and/or Stillwater.

Wow, seeing the old 35W bridge referred to as an "existing structure" is a bit off-putting.

Re: The Interchange (At Target Field)
You know, I always assumed that this was a replacement of the Target Field Station. Now, I'm not entirely sure what the purpose is for. No bus service function? Isn't that the point, getting LRT, Northstar, and busses accessing 94/394 all into one cute package with a bow on top? Because if its suppo...
