Re: 2013 Minneapolis Municipal Elections
I am supporting Lisa Bender in Ward 10 and would encourage those of you in the Ward to meet her to learn of her vision, leadership capabilities, and passion. I met Lisa in October 2009 after a summer and fall of bike fatalities. A group of about 10 to 15 bikers met to discuss what actions could be t...

Re: 2013 Minneapolis Municipal Elections
Suspicious post of PetersonJill indeed. I generally recommend keeping away from posting critical pieces that can't be backed up and posted without a name of the person making the allegation.

Re: SimCity
In all seriousness though, I think it's a huge mistake of them to require it to be streamed. Optional is fine, as I would like to go head to head with Nick, but I also want to play without streaming that data or be forced not to play because my internet connection dies.

Nick, don't act like you don't want to want to join an UrbanMSP region. You want to build with me

Re: Location of a 2nd International Airport?
I think it is more realistic to assume that one of the other extended metro airports would be used, such as St. Cloud or Rochester than building a new airport.

Re: Mozaic
The Lagoon Theater was at one point a part of the east side of the site but was not a part of the 2008 or 2010 plans. It was a part of the 2005-2007 plans.

Re: Stick vs. Concrete Construction
There are all sorts of footings/foundations and in Minneapolis, I'm not concerned about the ability of most sites to structurally support a building regardless of what was there before unless the soil quality is incredibly poor. Mozaic used three main footing types: typical poured form footing, Cais...

Re: Mozaic
Just to end the speculation, there are not current entitlements for Phase II because in 2010 when the project received updated approvals, Phase II (which was labeled as Phase III due to the parking ramp being Phase I, the top office piece as Phase II) was not determined and it did not make sense to ...

Re: Introductions
I'm Thatcher, aka Thatchio. After years of posting at Minnescraper (and a site preceding that), I went cold turkey. I now sometimes post to OurUptown.com and may cross post some to Streets.mn. I'm a lurker now and enjoy reading your opinions, news, and more. I work for a developer and like many of y...
