Re: Downtown Minneapolis General Topics & Development Map
CHDC is the developer, they are still working on this. I agree that it seems unlikely they're still planning on Super Bowl-related lodging.

Re: CPM North Loop Office Building - 419 Washington Ave N / 420 N 3rd St
Not to say the Developer - Architect relationship is perfect, but developers also invest their time first and get paid later. Sometimes developers on a project are paid years later than the architects. There is nothing to stop architects from opening a development branch of the business, aside from ...

Re: Hi-Lo Diner (4020 Lake St E)
We enjoyed dinner there over the weekend. Our daughter was heartbroken that we didn't go to Longfellow Grill until the food came out, and then she was fine. We split one of the desert-donut-creations 4 ways, and it was still generous. Planning to return, but apparently need to up my hipster game fir...

Re: Harriet Avenue Apartments - (2900 block of Harriet/Grand)
The setbacks of the top two floors are intended to reduce shading, though it isn't eliminated. I'm a supporter of the Midtown Greenway Coalition and I'm so grateful for the Coalition's efforts in keeping power lines away from the trench. That said, I'm not convinced by the 'shading' issue. I would m...

If the Vikings can get Portland Ave closed to traffic between 4th & 5th Street, I'd be cool with calling that segment formerly known as Portland "Vikings Way."

Re: Southside - General Topics
You’re right that the neighborhood group probably wouldn’t designate you as their representative, but if you’re interested in getting involved, I should mention that there’s not a ‘distance cut-off’ in terms of involvement on the board. A few of the other board members (myself included) live 2-ish m...

Re: Southside - General Topics
Archiapolis - yes, I attended the Southside Greenway meeting last night. The group is still seeking local residents to get involved, and your neighborhood may still need a neighborhood representative. Similar to the Midtown Greenway Coalition, this Southside Greenway group is structured to give each...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis General Topics & Development Map
A friend of mine went on that tour. She's been working in Minneapolis for 30+ years, and knows the geography of most Minneapolis neighborhoods better than I do. Incidentally, her work involves supporting the development of affordable housing. 'What kind of people are they?' People who are tired of s...

Re: Mill City Quarter - (300 South 2nd Street)
Use of space might be an equally important consideration for the sheet pile system - these foundation walls come very close to the sidewalks, and using conventional retaining walls outside of the building footprint might have added costs associated with rebuilding/repairing streets. MNdible, I'm cur...

Re: North Loop Neighborhood
The North Loop Neighborhood per the City is bound by (clockwise starting from noon) the River, Hennepin, Washington, 394, 94, and Plymouth. It's roughly the same as combining google's versions of the North Loop and Warehouse District.

Yes, stick framing has begun on the Edition, near the corner of 5th Ave and 4th St on one of the buildings lining the Wells Fargo towers.
As for the building in the park block, no stick framing yet.
