Re: Bicycle Infrastructure
I've seen a car on the Greenway and have heard of people driving on the Gateway trail in St. Paul. Sometimes I think it's just high schoolers or etc doing it for a thrill.

Re: Bicycle Infrastructure
Given recent events in NYC. Where do you all think we should put some decorative barriers to prevent cars from going down bike paths. I see the Greenway as an obvious place, and I'm sure there are other locations. The problem to me is that places like Lake Calhoun or along the river would be very di...

Re: LynLake Municipal Lot Redevelopment
Hopefully, the parking would be able to be converted to other uses if it's not needed in the future. The Midtown Streetcar and Lake St BRT and eventually the mythical driverless cars may impact this site.

I don't think Kowalski's could compete with Whole Foods and Target nearby.

It's part of the larger opioid epidemic. When people can't get prescription drugs anymore they go for heroin since it's cheaper and more available.

Re: Public Transit News and Current Happenings
I noticed they put some new pavement on some of the streets around that stadium. I bike, but don't recall any bumps commuting home that way.

Re: Public Transit News and Current Happenings
No mention of the Super Bowl here, just of improvements which obviously help transport people during the Superbowl. (If you used the crossover on the next block could two trains theoretically be side by side at the station loading at the same time and take turns leaving?) "The overhead power li...

Re: Downtown Hotel News
This block might change a lot in the long-term when the city puts their properties on the market. It'll be great if we could get a skyway connection over to the Opus towers from here.

They did add an additional crossover on the block between Park and Portland. The LRT was closed last weekend so they could install the wires according to MT's Facebook this weekend.

I tried to find the information online and couldn't find any mention of the station closure. Even on the MN Super Bowl site.

Re: Legacy Condominiums - 121 12th Ave S (187' - 17 Stories)
From reading your excerpts it appears before Stanton died he didn't have most of the financing in place? Secondly, by the time he died much of the building was up, which makes me wonder if much of the costs associated with the construction isn't from the basic structure which is so exciting for all ...

Star Tribune reports that the Super Bowl Host Committee is moving to the ground floor of Dayton's. (We can call it Dayton's again right?)

Re: Downtown Minneapolis General Topics & Development Map
This housing is really needed and I'm glad it's happening. However, the buildings seem oddly place and cut up the block a bit. Too bad they can't just stack them on top of each other.
Here's a link to their website regarding the project.

Looks like they've installed some lights on some of the balcony platforms. It'll be interesting how it looks when complete.

Re: United Properties / Four Seasons "Gateway" Project (Nicollet Hotel Block)
Potentially, could be the tallest. Potentially the Vikings could also win the Super Bowl as well. If we get hotel, office and condos the math may work. A cool thing about living on the top of this building is that there would be views of both the riverfront and close view of Downtown.

Re: United Properties / Four Seasons "Gateway" Project (Nicollet Hotel Block)
It appears Sheik's Cave is underneath Downtown. There are a bunch of links on Google talking about it. Sounds like it's mostly destroyed and not much left. It'll be awesome is somehow one of these caves or tunnels were opened up for use. I know the tunnels beneath the Pillsbury A Mill had some talk ...

Re: United Properties / Four Seasons "Gateway" Project (Nicollet Hotel Block)
A neat thing about having offices here is that it'll be one of the closest large office buildings to the river. The workers will easily be able to walk down Hennepin and take the stairs to the riverfront and the improvements that will occur there.

Re: United Properties / Four Seasons "Gateway" Project (Nicollet Hotel Block)
They've updated their website. It lists: *Class A office or luxury apartments *Condos on top floors Maybe with Four Seasons, potentially RBC and condos this might reach a notable height? It's wishful thinking, but given that Alatus sees a 40 story tower of Condos alone as viable we may be fortunate....

Re: The Once and Future Dayton's
I'm wondering how this will impact City-Center nearby? I could see it potentially being complementary, or a detriment. Maybe with more people living Downtown and the potential of the Southwest LRT this might have more of a chance over Block E?
