Re: Mall of America Transit Station: Master Plan

The Blue Line won't be extended, but MOA could share terminal status with the Riverview line in the future, so leaving the room for an additional platform (but not building it on speculation) is a wise decision.

Re: Presidential Election 2016

About the Philly SEPTA strike, I've been assured by many people in the area that not only are all polls within walking distance in the city, but SEPTA workers have already stated that the strike will be temporarily suspended on election day. From SEPTA's statement: ‘We are hopeful that a tentative a...

I seem to remember someone else trying to build a planned community in Florida. Maybe this will eventually become a theme park too.

APRICOT Center has a nice ring to it.

Re: Roseville / Rosedale - General Topics

I wonder if the remodel will help lead to the same kinds of development we've seen nearby Southdale. There's a lot of people who would choose to live in Roseville for relatively easy access to both Minneapolis and St. Paul, but not much new multifamily housing to match.

Re: City of Minneapolis Offices Consolidation

I always get a kick out of otherwise staunch free-market uber alles types who get furious that the city isn't doing more to interfere with the free-market process of parking getting converted to higher and better uses. It's easy to say how much you love the free market when you don't realize how so...

Washington County was pretty pragmatic about how the failure of SWLRT would mean Gateway would likely be off the table.

Re: Southwest LRT (Green Line Extension)

The problem will be the same as the State Office Building though. Who remembers what happened with it? Doesn't matter, it becomes a Tweet-sized retort to any future spending or project and a conservative meme.

You realize you've bypassed Minneapolis and St. Paul at this point for overall density
It's not Bob Lux's fault that it's downright impossible to upzone the SFH neighborhoods in MSP.

Re: Southwest LRT (Green Line Extension)

So the best course would be to publicly stay quiet until after the election, and then announce their funding plan once they have a few years of breathing room. With all the "Disband the Met Council/Elect the Met Council" rabble, they've got as much to lose as the DFL.
