Re: Minnesota Multi Purpose Stadium
The beams that will hold the pivoting doors are starting to go up on the west side of the stadium. It looks like two of them so far. You can see the round white beams on the webcam.

Re: Downtown East Project (Ryan Companies / Wells Fargo)
I believe there will be apartments on the south side of both towers. The hotel will be on the north side of one of them. Those blank concrete walls we see on each side will be covered by the apartments/hotel.

Re: Saints Lowertown Ballpark
Yep. The field is oriented almost the perfect way. Ideally, the line from 3rd base to 1st base is south. That is why lefties are called southpaws, because they are facing south when in the stretch.

Re: Minnesota Multi Purpose Stadium
It looks like the giant crawler crane will be hoisting one of the queen trusses on the south side of the stadium next. They are starting to place the wood planks on the ground which is forming a path to the south side of the main roof truss. The tarps are off that truss now and they are taking off t...

Re: Nicollet Hotel Block
Most people are very disappointed because they got their hopes up that he could deliver the tallest building in Minneapolis. The IDS is still the tallest and it's over 40 years old which is ridiculous. People want progress, not the status quo.

[/quote] Are we really going with the "It's never affected me, so it's clearly not a problem at all" argument here? Even the lowest estimate says 300 Million birds (Highest estimate, 1 billion) are killed by buildings each year in NA. How many are killed per year by house cats? What's bein...

Re: Minnesota Multi Purpose Stadium
How can these bird lovers be so sure? The glass side faces west. Birds migrate north and south. I'm also pretty sure their only route isn't through the stadium, lol. Let's ban house cats too, those terrible bird killing monsters! I have never seen a dead bird downtown, so it's not like there would b...

Re: Minnesota Multi Purpose Stadium
I highly suspect it's going to feel cold and sterile I should clarify myself: I based my statement on admittedly flimsy evidence, but here we go. From watching a lot of football on TV, I've noticed that a lot of the newer stadiums—especially domed ones—feel very generic and empty inside regardless ...

looks like some of the high up end zone seats will have view blocked by roof truss connector look at camera 3 especially http://msfa.com/content/GALLERY/FULL/December%2012/IMG_2339.JPG This picture gives a good view of the upper level next to the truss connector. Re: Saints Lowertown Ballpark
I understand what you're saying about the quality of play in the Saints league but players play minor league ball for the love of the game. Their pay is very low and 99.9% of them will never reach the big leagues. Half the Twins roster (league minimum over $500K/year) would be in AAA ball if the tea...

Re: Saints Lowertown Ballpark
Saints games are great fun and are very affordable. I don't understand your hate. I'm from St Paul and always pictured a ballpark where the Gillette building once was, and now it's there!!
