Re: RBC Gateway (Four Seasons) - 37 stories - 519'
Would this still be constrained to the streetcar fund or can it shift to bus? Either way its a much better building then I expected and really helps make that end of Nicollet mall feel far more welcoming to bikers and pedestrian with the park on the other side.

Re: George Floyd murder and aftermath
Most plans are made in secret and once details are finalized the public hears about it and can react. Biden wrote his infrastructure plan in "secret" and when the details were done he showed the public and even if it doesnt pass he actually came out with a very good plan. Maybe the CC shou...

Re: George Floyd murder and aftermath
I think the speedway idea is great!
They could build a new building for a historical center on the events of that area. This is more long term planning of the area but still.

The less the city leadership is involved the better on the bus issues. There is a reason none of them have come out as having signed off on this.
I do think they can sell the idea of a bus station and redoing the road/sidewalk but it wont be easy.

Re: Target Center Renovation
I agree, assuming with the E-tab revenue the city is able to get out from under its stadium debt I would either like to see the .5% tax removed or have it be specified for what it can be spent on. Maybe have it be used to fund development/ improvements around the complexes? Build out better transit ...

Re: Target Center Renovation
At the time I thought it was a half baked idea but the pull tab revenue has far exceeded what was expected. I hope this allows us to pay off the stadium debts sooner and use that money plus the interest saving for other social investments.

Re: Target Center Renovation
I have gone to a few games and its a pretty nice stadium now. I dont think we will get a new one anytime soon. That being said I dont see why we cant expand the plaza in front of target field and remove the 3 way skyway between target center and the A and B ramp. That will help make the area feel li...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Office Market
I know its to short notice but why not memorial day weekend for such an event. Based on the vaccine numbers and supply I think it could be done. It should be warm out plus most of the covid restrictions assuming we dont have a spike should be done. Have a kick off to "Summer in Minneapolis"...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Office Market
Some but not all city leaders take downtown for granted, that its draw for workers and residents is a given at this point. Nothing is a given in life. Covid aid will be a one time thing and assuming the city doesnt want to end up in a tax revenue spiral they need to assume the worst case. No the cit...

Re: Embarrassing Confessions of Urbanists
Myself and one of my best friends whos also an urbanist love to just drive around a city and explore via car. We have done this not only in Minneapolis and St. Paul but in Madison, Milwaukee, Racine, La Crosse and many of the suburbs. Its fun to just see how a road changes and the story it can tell.

I guess to me in todays social environment that comes across as asking about ones political views given how political the issue of policing has become. Granted I dont think it should be as its a cop directing traffic vs other duties of there job which seems very good given how backed up this store i...

Can they legally ask that question? I doubt they will remove the drive through unless they don't see a large drop in sales with it closed. If they do I can see them closing it if not this will get interesting to say the least. Also the officer is directing traffic which given the amount of traffic t...
