Re: U.S. Bank Stadium Construction Updates
Walked around the stadium this weekend. Impressive progress on the east side, especially the southeast corner. The parking lot is in, the stairs are almost complete, basically just landscaping left it appears.

Re: Minneapolis Fiber Internet and Cable Services
Well presumably it violates the contract of the person that's paying for Cable TV. Sent from my phone Again, I'm not sure what's being violated. It's not the DMCA because the DMCA, for the most part, relates to circumventing technologies designed to prevent copyrighted material. The Slingbox doesn'...

Re: Minneapolis Fiber Internet and Cable Services
Just a tip for cable cutters. If you have a friend or family member that does pay for full cable/ satellite, get a Slingbox and hook it up to one of their TVs. I agree that you don't need cable for most things anymore but live sports is an exception. I bought a Slingbox for a one-time charge of $99...

Re: Vikings Stadium Timeloop (WARNING: Laws of Physics Askew
Not sure a 1 billion dollar investment in a stadium would sound "more" justifiable for in your own words speeding up an already inevitable development of status less than fitting of downtown. Maybe if a development such as 4 Marq was located here then yes, that would be worth making a foo...

Re: Minneapolis Fiber Internet and Cable Services
Ditto. You can call Comcast and cancel now, btw.....you just have to learn how to live off of Chromecast, Netflix, or the like, and it's really not hard to adapt to. We "quit" cable about 4 months ago and we really aren't missing much. I miss ESPN obviously, and the wife misses her female...

Re: Minneapolis Fiber Internet and Cable Services
Has anyone else heard the *rumor* Comcast has paid off landlords of larger buildings to keep USI out? I emailed The Walkway last week about if they had or planned to have USI Fiber and they said Comcast was the only option permitted. It's apparently added to rent, which I thought was kind of odd. S...

Re: Minnesota Multi Purpose Stadium
There are a lot of people who put an insane amount of value on getting shitfaced and watching football in person. Think about it: Other than people who may have tickets for their company's clients or something, do many people here know folks with season tickets? I don't. Especially the wealthier pe...

Re: Minnesota Multi Purpose Stadium
Would have to imagine the more expensive tickets might help that a bit. It's pretty trashy at present. I've gone to a Vikings game annually for a bit, and, notably, my last time in the Metrodome I got to be in the background (starting about 4:26) of this neat video: I was at that game and sat not f...

Re: Minneapolis Fiber Internet and Cable Services
Do you folks run stock firmware on your routers? I've had excellent luck running slightly cheaper Linksys routers (deals in the <$30 range) with ddwrt or tomato. I even set up a new router for a local coffee shop after I told them how cheap it was to upgrade their circa-2002 equipment. Right now I ...

Re: Minneapolis Fiber Internet and Cable Services
Travis, thanks to you and US Internet. My apartment, Track 29, initially put off having you guys set us up but went live this week (or at least that's when I first told). I signed up Tuesday night and I didn't realize how easy it is. I assumed I'd have to wait or have an installer come out but I si...

Re: Uptown Hotel Discussion
Would the 15,000 sq ft be enough for a Target Express? I know that's been discussed in the past.
