Re: Vikings Stadium
Agreed. I would say the IDS is inspired by the Pan Am tower and the Wells Fargo tower is inspired by the GE building, but I would consider both iconic to our city.

Re: Mortenson Apartment Tower - (400 Marquette Avenue)
Regarding the lack of balconies. Just remember that the Soo Line Building will be luxury apartments, and they will not have balconies. Not everyone needs balconies.

Re: Vikings Stadium
This could work in a DTE park for the Vikings stadium. But TCF has all those parking lots for much more than just TCF events. Those are much needed for the school and other events at the U. Those parking lots are packed much more often then they are empty.

Anyone know what the K-A guy is talking about with the Wells Fargo reference? Completely confused by that.

U tuition is actually closer to $12k per year. Even out of state tuition is nowhere near 20k.

Re: House of Hanson Site (14th Avenue SE & 5th Street SE)
I lived in Marcy-Holmes for 3 years at the beginning of college. For the most part, I would grocery shop at Rainbow and eat the vast majority of my meals at home. When I moved to 1301 University (Purple Onion complex) I ate very often at all the places in Dinkytown that I rarely visited prior. And I...

Re: House of Hanson Site (14th Avenue SE & 5th Street SE)
New article from the Daily. http://www.mndaily.com/city/business/2013/03/14/dinkytown-apt-complex-plans-motion This comment is absolutely ridiculous. I hope this person realizes where Dinkytown is. Fraser said she is wary of the concentration of students in Dinkytown. “We are concerned that it’s all...

Re: Plymouth Building Apartments - (12 6th Street South)
I don't know...I have a friend paying $1100 for a 450 square foot studio now, and a friend that paid 85k to buy a studio that size 5 years ago(turned out to not be the best investment). 400 square feet isn't as small as you think. Plus, most of these people are fresh out of college. Kinda use to sm...

Re: Radisson Blu - Bloomington
Article from the Business Journal which includes photos. I really like the way the exterior turned out. http://www.bizjournals.com/twincities/news/2013/03/07/radisson-blu-slideshow-mall-of-america.html Some very interesting furniture. I personally like it. It really stands out and makes an impressio...

Re: SimCity
I bought the game the day it came out. Took a LONG time just to get it properly installed. Then all the servers were down, so I couldnt get on a server to play (due to online only). Wasn't able to really play until Saturday. In the morning, the game would shut down every 10 minutes. They finally got...

Re: Downtown Office Market
Not really, no. I saw an interview with someone at Ryan who guessed that is what was going to happen. But if we think of the possible WF/Ryan "campus" on the strib parking lots and the Hines building (which has gotten awfully quiet...) that would be close to that mark. Optimists would hop...

K-State proposal is awesome. Would love to see that. Harvard's is absolutely horrible. Did they spend any time on there's? You would expect more from them.

Re: 222 & Whole Foods - (222 Hennepin Avenue)
The half block facing Hennepin on the Dolphin Staffing block should, and most likely will be a much more impressive building. Especially if that park gets built. And the block just across 1st on Washington has a lot of potential as well.

Re: The Bridges - (950 University Avenue SE)
I think it would look great, but having those two streets 2-ways would be horrible for traffic. Traffic on those roads is a nightmare the way it is if any event is going on at the U.

Re: 301 Walnut (Sally's Building)
Sally's is a great place. Go there often for sporting events. Will be missed. But looking forward to another great development in this area. With regards to a dress code. I have never had a problem wearing anything there. From t-shirts, to backwards caps. They do not have a dress code. And how any d...

Re: The Bridges - (950 University Avenue SE)
I lived in 7 corners with a unit really close to the 35W bridge before the collapse. Assuming the bridge was much louder then, since the new bridge has some noise reduction technology. Either way, back then we had NO problems with noise. Even with the windows open, you could hear it but it wasn't to...
